Harsh. Money shot at 35 seconds if you want to skip the boring talking.

Supposedly Hammertime was a convicted murderer doing hard time in Russia who got press-ganged into Wagner, quickly surrendered to the Ukrainians, then somehow wound up back in Russian custody. Probably exchanged by the Ukrainians. Russian prisoners are probably valuable, as they can trade them to get one of their own back. Wonder how that went down with Hammertime.
The neocons at wikipedia have an article up about it:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Yevgeny_Nuzhin
https://www.rt.com/russia/571523-prigozhin-sledgehammer-execution-hoax/Yakushchenko came into the media spotlight this week, after a video purportedly showing his execution was published on social media. In it, he confessed to deserting Wagner and going to the Ukraine-controlled side. He claimed that he had been abducted in Ukraine for a “trial” before an unidentified person appeared to smash his head with a sledgehammer. The video was heavily blurred.
Since the ‘execution’ video was confirmed to be a hoax, Prigozhin claimed that Yakushchenko was captured after getting lost on the frontline and “acted like a real man, that is told lots of f**king lies” to survive. He backed the assertion that the man returned with a lot of “useful information.”
so the execution video was actually staged by Ukrainians to make Wagner look bad
the guy was captured and mock-executed, then somehow found his way back with intel on their positions -
2023-02-15 at 2:56 PM UTCwait was it a different guy? I'm confused. the article talks about the sledgehammer execution but also mentions Ukrainians executing POWs last week, by gunfire

2023-02-15 at 3:07 PM UTCsledgehammer execution is a common thing within the wagner group.

The videos are horrific. Russian tanks under heavy fire careening off course into mine fields exploding in flames. Soldiers scattering for their lives in all directions – some running aflame like human torches. Ukrainian drones bombing advancing Russian infantry. Incessant artillery fire reducing entire platoons of fifty or more men to pink mist. Shattered limbs and torsos dangling from trees. The bodies of dead troops caught in tank tracks ground to meal. The earth slick with gore. Everywhere the stench of burning flesh and rotting corpses. At day’s end ravens and scavengers eat their fill of carrion. The cries of dying soldiers abandoned on the battlefield pierce the darkness. It’s a hell far worse than anything described by Dante.
The videos taken by Ukrainian drones, twenty of them released to date, reveal fundamental tactical blunders in the one most unforgiving battlefield environment – flat and open terrain. The mistakes, coupled with the terrain, enable Ukrainian spotters on higher ground to direct artillery strikes and drone attacks with deadly accuracy.
Still the Russians charge forward in tight groups over the bodies of dead comrades in head-on assaults. It’s that or be shot by their own commanders.
It's all being watched by prominent Russian bloggers back home, many of them military veterans. It infuriates them. Causes them to label Russia's war effort a complete fiasco. Now they're speaking out on social media in ever increasing numbers.
They describe what they see in the videos as a “shameful debacle.” War crimes by Russian commanders committed against their own troops.
“They were advancing along a relatively narrow route, all the time in sight of Ukrainian observers posted atop of high buildings in Vuhledar, and now facing about 500 meters of empty terrain on the eastern side of the town,” wrote one blogger. “Ukrainian artillery not only caused heavy losses to the advancing units but hit their rear too - cutting off both their supply links and their possible withdrawal routes.”
Russia's former DPR Defense Minister Igor Strelkov watched the videos. “They were shot like turkeys at a shooting range,” he posted on Telegram. “A lot of good T-72B3/T-80BVM tanks and the best paratroopers and marines were liquidated. Only morons attack head-on in the same place, heavily fortified and extremely inconvenient for the attackers for many months in a row.”
Another blogger writing under the moniker “Moscow Calling” was appalled by what he saw. “The movement of tanks and infantry fighting vehicles in narrow columns near Vuhledar was asking for trouble. The Russian units in the area lack information because commanders have failed to integrate intelligence-gathering into battlefield decisions. All this has been implemented or is in the process of being implemented by the Ukrainian armed forces. The older T-72 tanks deployed in Vuhledar lack upgrades that would improve the driver’s breadth of vision. This causes Russian tanks to get entangled or reverse blindly. How are blind, deaf tanks, armored personnel carriers, with equally blind, deaf infantry supposed to fight without columns? And then how to coordinate any actions if there is no communication and situational awareness? If the Russian Armed Forces try to disperse, they will shoot each other, because they do not understand who is in front of them.”
Several prominent Russian bloggers are now demanding the dismissal of Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov, commander of the Eastern Grouping of Forces. Muradov has been in charge since last November when troops under his command protested his tactics by refusing to go into battle. “Russian forces are doomed to repeat their mistakes if Muradov remains in place,” wrote one blogger.
Many of the bloggers post on the pro-Wagner Group Telegram channel Grey Zone. There they openly criticize Russian military commanders in expletive-deletive bursts of rage. “This fucking coward is lying down at the control point and sending column after column until the commander of one of the brigades (Colonel Sergey Polyakov) involved in the Vuhledar assault is dead on the contact line!”
Another blogger wrote on Grey Zone, “These people killed a significant number of personnel and equipment (November) and did not bear any responsibility. After which, with the same mediocrity, they began to storm Ugledar (Vuhledar). Impunity always breeds permissiveness.”
So for those asking if Russian citizens are aware of troop losses in Ukraine and inept Russian commanders ordering Russian sons to certain death – the answer is yes. And they're becoming increasingly hostile towards the Kremlin and Russia's military command -

2023-02-16 at 1:19 PM UTCLets remember, Putin was not elected. He was illegally appointed by a drunk Yeltsin. His rise to power is completely illegal and the base of his power is also based on lies. There is nothing Putin has done that is impressive or has been great for the Russian people. He is the worlds biggest idiot.

https://archive.is/Vyg1QThe West’s hardest task in Ukraine: Convincing Putin he’s losing
Ending the war in Ukraine on terms acceptable to its President Volodymyr Zelensky will require the West to convince Russian leader Vladimir Putin he’s losing.
Good luck with that.
lmango
these people cannot allow themselves to think outside the boundaries of whatever narratives they're holding onto
most of the article is just pure narrative with no basis in reality, and they're whining that Russia's behaviour isn't predicated on itThis war is also not some mere territorial dispute he’s likely to give up lightly. It’s born from his belief that Ukraine is not a country and must be folded into Russia. His survival in power could also depend on not being seen to have lost. And while the West says it’s in for the long haul, Putin has already been at war in Ukraine since 2014 after the annexation of Crimea.
A frozen conflict that lasts for many more years and prevents Ukraine becoming whole may be a sustainable position for him. He’s already shown he’s indifferent to massive human losses. And judging by his rhetoric he believes he’s locked into a titanic geopolitical struggle with NATO vital for Russia’s prestige. The question is whether the West has a similar appetite for the long haul.
literally just parroting grifters like ISW and wondering why Russia is not behaving like it's true. it's not a problem with the prediction, they're just too strange and barbaric to be predictable -

2023-02-16 at 7:32 PM UTCJust a hunch of mine, but I think Lukashenko is going to get a message from the US that if Belarus enters the war they will be completely liquidated. This would be the message that would get some attention from this POS and Putin. One massive raid on Belarus or a complete flattening of Minsk would make everyone think twice about doing anything further. Frankly, this is probably the best way to get everyone to stop and take a deep breath and rethink things. Or maybe take Lukashenko out with a bullet and let little Vlad know he can be reached too. That seems to be the only way fvcking Russians understand anything.

Note the lack of young men (seen only on a poster)
no sympathy for these stupid fvkks.... they are working hard to destroy their country.... my only response is 'faster!' -
2023-02-16 at 7:35 PM UTCother than putting a man into space first, Russia has done absolutely nothing of significance that leads the world in a positive manner. All the yapping about what Poland should do, and complicated history is Russians lying to themselves. The whole culture is built on lies, and they believe their own lies. It is pitiful. Like a dog that is suffering from rabies it must finally be put down before it bites and infects someone or something else.

2023-02-16 at 7:36 PM UTCUkraine says they need more ammo, and Germany ramps up ammo production to accommodate killing more Orcs. Just when the Orcs were getting a little hope that they could relinquish the title of worlds greatest dying civilization, Germany has to dash the Orcs hopes. Oh well looks like more Ivans, and Vladimirs will be going home in boxes or straight to a Ukraine landfill. Get your marshmallows out cause its Orc killing time!

pearls before swine. Putin was appointed as Yeltsin's replacement for the last few months of his presidency then won multiple elections. if you don't know what he did to rebuild a Russia that not only suffered the fall of the Soviet Union but also oligarchs and their foreign backers cutting up and selling off the entire state apparatus, why even bother posting? it wasn't until 2008 or so after he'd thrown most of them out that the people saw any benefit from the sale of gas and minerals again.
