Yes the soul does have consciousness

I'm Christian but I've always leaned toward the theory that we just go to some kind of Astral plane, possibly to be reincarnated.
I kinda hope I just totally cease to exist honestly. But somehow I don't feel like that's going to be the case, despite that being the most logical answer.
I have a hard time believing in heaven and hell but obviously heaven would be best case scenario and hell would be worst case scenario.

but hell is where the cool people would be.

>i think everyone just experiences whatever they think they're going to experience or what they're going to deserve as they die
what do people that think this experience?

Clearly you've never done opiates. There is no sadness in opiate land, only dull comfort.

Your body is like a light bulb. Your brains activity and all that comes along with it(like having an ego that results in some people believing in souls) is like the light inside the light bulb.
Where does the light go when you turn off a light bulb?

consciousness isn't based in the brain.

Where do people go when they die, but only for seconds or minutes? Like Bill Krozby said he saw the roof of his building, or people will be able to read clocks put face up on top of tall obstacles. Does this confirm that something within us remains and floats upward ?
Are these claims bullshit or is there legitimacy to them?
Either way, we can definitely confirm that people have died and been reanimated and they still have the same personality and all that. So if we have a soul it doesn't fly away or something when we die, or maybe it does?
I would think more research would have been done by now and these floating death experiences and knowing what happens when a person is clinically dead and brought back to life.
2017-05-16 at 9:55 PM UTC
^ No, they've literally done multiple studies attempting to confirm this. For example, in patients who claimed to have repeated out of body experiences, astral projection, even during surgery/anesthesia they would do things like putting some distinct message or object that they could only see if somehow, in some form of consciousness, they were actually floating above their bodies and taking in information.
And you know what? Not a single one of those produced a smidgen of evidence.
There's just so much bad information out there, pseudo-science, quasi-religious beliefs/"spirituality", and people that are simply incredibly under informed, massively overestimate their own capabilities and knowledge/level of understanding, and completely misinterpret information.
So, basically, I'm pretty sure all this stuff is bullshit, sadly. Would be pretty cool if it wasn't.

If you honestly believe that, get out.
Science works, bitches. Why can't so many people accept that?
2017-05-16 at 10:17 PM UTC
So all the clock things are bullshit? There aren't even a handful of examples of people reading times or messages that they could not possibly have done without hovering high above themselves?

science is a hoax.
Dude, you'd better be trolling us.
This is just so ____ I don't even want to facepalm of think about it. I will never even try to discuss this with someone who genuinely has that belief.
