Satan was the most beautiful and admired of all God's heavenly angels. He held several important and powerful positions in God's heavenly government, which included acting as the ambassador between Adam and Eve and God. He was perfect in every way. Then he let his ego overcome his sense of wisdom and decided to test Adam and Eve, without God's approval. He knew Adam would not be fooled, so he approached Eve instead, knowing she was created second, knowing she was relatively inexperienced, relative to Adam, as Adam had been alone without a companion for many hundreds of years before Eve was created to compliment him. God had commanded Adam that the fruit of the one tree in the Garden of Eden he was not permitted to eat from, but all the thousands of others trees he was free to enjoy. Satan knew this, so he decided to tempt Eve into eating of the fruit of the one forbidden tree. He promised her that if she ate from the fruit of the one tree, she would become like God, knowing all things, and become just as powerful as God. Eve was fooled and she ate. When she realized no change had occurred, she ran to Adam to admit her error. Adam, realizing the punishment for eating of the fruit of the one tree God had claimed as his own meant certain death, he ate of the fruit as well, deliberately sharing in her fate. He put Eve above God.

Satan was satisfied with his results, and went away to take his station once more within God's heavenly kingdom. After a time had passed, God himself came to Adam and called out to him, but Adam and Eve were in hiding. Finally, Adam revealed himself to God and admitted the eating of the fruit of the one tree, while also laying blame on Eve, that she had made him eat. God then turned to Eve, and Eve, in turn, laid blame on Satan, claiming she had been fooled. God then turned to Satan and told him that from then on he would crawl on his belly like a snake in the grass, and he told Eve that all the children she would bear would be born in pain, and that her overpowering craving would become for her husband, and for Adam, he told him that from all his bread from then on would be be brought through sweat and pain and the hard yoke of manual labor.

Soon thereafter, a criminal court was brought against Satan in God's heavenly court, and all took their stations, including Satan himself. In his defense, Satan claimed that the actions of the humans proved that they were less than perfect, that they were thankless, without gratitude for all the good things God had given them, that their only desire to obey stem from fear and the promise of personal gain. He also added, in his own defense, that God himself does not have the authority to rule over either him or the humans, that free will, without God's authority, would guarantee humans happiness. At that point, God gave him authority over the entire Earth, for a period of time that only he alone knows, to allow Satan ample opportunity to prove his case, whereupon, at the completion of that allowance, Satan will be brought back to God's heavenly court to answer his charges and be judged and sentenced. Meanwhile, God commanded he be marooned here on earth, along with several thousand disobedient angels loyal to Satan, who have decided to support his case.

Satan's allowance of time is very soon about to expire. At that time, Satan will have been proved to have made false claims in his case, as there will still be some humans loyal to God, regardless of their losses, and will still seek God's guidance, regardless of their losses, in order to be happy - something Satan insisted was not possible. Then Satan will be judged guilty as charged and sentenced, and all those with him will share in that sentence of judgement.

This is why I worship Abraxas. Everything is made out of god because god is everything and gods name is Abraxas. Satan and god are just sock puppets on both hands of the same guy.

By the way, angels and bad angels are all from the same species, aliens, who God created before humans. They have lived for possibly millions, perhaps billions of years, and have knowledge of advanced scientific systems, such as instant particle transportation, much like the transporters from Star Trek, but much faster and more efficient, they can link into brain patterns and "read" them using scanning technology, and they can perform many other seemingly impossible tasks we would consider magic, all using highly advanced technology. They have highly advanced cloaking technology, as well as destructive weapons beyond our comprehension, also great ships run by the most powerful computers. They have a thorough understanding of the complexities of DNA, quantum mechanics, time travel, and alternate dimensions. They helped create this world and everything on it, participated in all of Earth's designs, so they already have a very intimate and detailed knowledge of human behavior and all the systems here on earth. The bad angels are so knowledgeable and powerful that they are an even match for the good angels, and during battle, sometimes more good angels need to be called in as reinforcements. They are patient. Wise. Relentless.

Oh please. That's a load of horseshit. According to your professed faith, Satan was the highest ranking angel who fell from the graces of God after he got a little too full of himself and wanted to be God. As a consequence, he was banished to earth where he's been fucking shit up ever since.

Some of them just look like shadow people, because they can exist in two planes at once, theirs and ours, much like we can survive in both air and water. They can also create entities of their own making, which may appear as "shadow people".

It's not so much that he wanted to be like God, because he already knows he can never be as powerful as God, but rather, he became jealous of the first humans. He began to despise them, because God loved them as much as he loved him, which he genuinely believed wasn't fair. Why should a couple of weak humans new on the scene get all the attention? He became jealous, and his ego got the better of him, thinking he was better and more deserving than the humans. That was his Achilles Heel - jealously - and he fell upon his own sword. Much like Cain bashed his own brother Abel's head in from behind with a large rock just because he was jealous of his brother. Jealousy and ego can be the undoing of not only humans, but of the angels as well. Now he realizes his error, but is too proud to admit defeat, and he will press on, even knowing full well of his eventual destruction.

Where are you getting that he was jealous of humans? That sounds like the plot of an old movie I used to watch. ...Damn, can't remember the name right now.

Also, it's not so much that Satan knows he will eventually be destroyed. He doesn't trust God one bit, so odds are he doesn't believe it will ever happen.

Milton put it succinctly: "Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven". This is Satan's philosophy and his mindset right now.

But, you see, the angels weren't created and designed for living on a paradise Earth in relative comfort and free of much responsibility. The angels were created to serve God directly, to carry out his will, to serve in his army, to sit in his parliament, to carry out various functions. Their entire lives and their purpose is to attend to God and his plans. The humans had much more freedom, as they were still in a state of development and had much to learn. Satan became incensed at this, thinking that if anyone deserved such liberties, it should be him and his. Over time, his resentment grew and became magnified, until he could no longer even control it. That is the point when he devised a scheme to trick the humans and hoped to produce disastrous results for them by testing their loyalty to God. In this, he partially succeed, but not fully, and not in the long run, as God knew in advance would be the case.

He created the army to bring justice to his enemies, much like you or I would use a battle hammer to pound down our enemies in battle. He created his heavenly government so that his will would not appear arbitrary and tyrannical, but would be open and transparent to all, so that all things could be examined by all and understood fully by all, for their own benefit, rather than his. He could easily and immediately do away with all that and simply assume total control and total power, regardless of anyone's complaints, but he would rather obedience and loyalty come from the heart rather than the head.
