Military Genius Zelensky wants Ukrainians to throw molotovs at Russian tanks

THe real reason tanks are on their way out is because more and more, they can be reliably defeated by much cheaper weapons. Combat aircraft and attack helicopters can reliably kill armor, sure, but in actual combined arms warfare tanks are not fielded by themselves and the risk of losing expensive aircraft limits their use.

Ambushing with drones or ATGMs is much cheaper with far less cost if the attack fails - $20k or so for a modern ATGM to kill a $1-5million tank is a bargain even if you need 10 of them to get the job done. Even the latest Arena/Trophy/Afganit/whatever else only mitigates the risk (and can't do much against drones anyway), can't guarantee safety especially considering how many missiles now dive down on the least-armored sections and/or fly at supersonic speeds.

Even the role they fill can probably (mostly) be split between artillery and IFVs (most of which are built on a standard tank chassis anyway)

definitely didn't have active protection systems, probably didn't even have ERA installed

they lost some Abrams and others the same way

sure, if all you're doing is threatening sand people with no credible anti-air

You know nothing of war kid
  5. Gonzalo Lira says the rats are fleeing the sinking ship and cites Arestoyevich going off the reservation and doing weird interviews.

All this faggy drama about a few german tanks is just a distraction, the Russians are coming, and will be doing war the slow, old fashioned way, not doing some stupid special military operation shit some crusty kremlin kike dreamed up.

lol is this true are these actual headlines?

Poland threatens 'coalition' to overcome German stance on tanks - PM

Poland wants to set up "coalitions." Polish brilliance absolutely boggles.

NATO should distance itself from Poland which appears to be as suicidal as before the II World War.

Poland is collapsing economically and they do everything now America tells them for some dollars.

It's not the first time the "proud" Polish leadership puts too much trust in its "allies". It never ended well.

if tanks are obsolete then why new ATGMs are fielded every year ?

  13. Sweeden is sending some Archer Howitzers to Ukraine. It's a pretty cool piece of kit that is resistant to small arms and can engage infantry with the remote controlled machine gun turret on top of the drivers cabin. It looks like a genuinely thoughtful design.

looks weird; wonder why they put the gun so far back.

it'd probably fill the same role the Ukrainians have had success with the HIMARS with - hitting high-value targets and getting out before the enemy can respond - but the range is so much shorter it'll be a lot less flexible.

also it'll probably have the same problem as the M777 - not designed for the intensity of warfare that's going on - the lightweight design and computerised everything are likely to develop faults under constant use

  15. The gun is fairly far back, maybe it's because the howitzer is so big and they had to keep the length to a certain limit? Or maybe it's for survivability of the cabin? Also it only has a 20 round magazine and 30km range.

But if they get good targeting data it could be highly effective for drive by shootings.

It'd be so much cooler if it could fire on the move. And I know these armies love their mud and their forests, but there are roads just about everywhere on earth, so the big tyres are just stupid imo.

I'll have you know he can take out an entire infantry division with nothing more than a cane in each hand. The Tasmanian Devil can't even hold a candle to him.

your confusing the secret US invasion of Grenada for another much secretier US invasion of Granada.

this is the fortified position where shlomo parker lost 11 men of his platoon to high density mortar fire and won 7 normination for purple hearts for grave injuries he sustained while attempting to take it.
