he has a long history of saying outlandish things, I guess he just doesn't think and forgets about the party line. wouldn't be surprised if he dips into Zelensky's coke
Looks like the bigwigs killed in the helicopter crash were part of *elensky's power base. Plane and helicopter crashes are very easy to arrange, and this sounds like an explosion was the cause of the helicopter crashing. It's good news in all as it might mean more rational actors come to the fore.
It's kind of disgusting seeing people go on what a tragedy 16 hohols dying is when hundreds of soldiers are dying every day on the front line.
"It would be fvcking poetic for the west to build a wall around Russia to keep them out when they built the first wall to keep people in. I am all in favor of this and would not only donate my own money but would fundraise for it. Brick them in to keep them out. Enjoy your country and only your country."

I wouldn't make that leap yet, Super Pumas have a bit of a reputation as flying coffins, seem to be prone to engine/transmission failures
DPR Joker, the guy who got into the DELTA troop management system, claims that the interior ministry was collecting details and blackmailing the military leadership, who are selling western weapons to 'third countries'. they wanted a cut so they had to be dealt with.
it would explain why they were all on the same helicopter I guess

there needs to be some sort of political solution because the Ukraine cannot win militarily; they will not be able to achieve their goals of retaking all of their 1991 territories regardless of how many weapons or soldiers they're given.
once they're unable to fight, the two options are to submit to even more embarrassing peace conditions or for NATO to escalate further which will lead to a much wider and uncontrolled war.

OTOH lots of proxy wars went on decades during the cold war.

the only thing I can think of that comes under this category is the Turkish/Cuban missile crisis, and we all know how close that came to being a major disaster

the Ukrainians want heavy tanks, but among other problems the Abrams and Leopards (most likely candidates) are way too heavy for the region; at almost 70 tonnes they'll obliterate roads, fall through bridges and fuck up pontoon crossings
the belters (notably Poland and Romania) want to send Leopard 2s, but they effectively need German permission to do so because Germany retained the capability to maintain and reconfigure them.
Germany has said they'll only allow the transfer of Leopard 2s to Ukraine if the US also gives them their Abrams MBTs. I'm not sure what their gameplan here is - maybe they know the numbers set to be transferred are unlikely to be sufficient to make a difference on the ground and want to shore up those numbers to avoid embarassment, or perhaps they've finally realised the US is trying to supplant their sales position in Europe and want to make sure that they're not able to use the inevitable videos of smouldering Leopards to muscle in on their market share

Western Europe and even America only has tanks in order to counter the tank threat from Russia. Leopard 2, Challenger 2, Abrams, they have no other reason for existing other than to fight Russian tanks. They should all be sent to Ukraine because there is no reason not to use them to do the only thing were built to do.

Tanks are virtually obsolete. Especially shitty Russian tanks.
