Scientists finally know why we are more prone to getting colds and flu in winter...
-
2022-12-06 at 6:45 PM UTCnothing worse than a Summertime cold. having a fucking 102f temp when its 90 degrees and the A/C blowing and making it worse. feeling clammy for 3-4 days straight before it starts to go away. having to take a cold bath to cool yourself down going in it's too hot then you're shivering like fuck.
not to mention you're wasting a beautiful day in the longest days of the year. it's like getting cheated out of vacation time. -

Well powder my polyps and call me Jesse. Who'd have thunk it.
I have never had an illness during the winter. You are just a pussybitch. -
2022-12-06 at 6:48 PM UTCI have the flu right now and feel like shit, first time in years. I blame vinny and his people for my suffering.

2022-12-07 at 1:58 AM UTCI always figured it was just because we’re all jammed inside buildings during the winter to escape the cold 🤔

I don't know who's they are and I don't make claims and guess either. Fralala can back me up on that! It's funny you assume they all belong to me, the canadian government should hire you as you provide me so much free rent living inside your head that they would save the taxpayers millions using your methods -
2022-12-07 at 3:41 AM UTCThe Canadian government already supports your ass so no need to worry about the taxpayers there, I pay my taxes to the US government… you could & should thank the Canadian government however for paying your rent.

You do realize it's not the government's money, don't you? -

But if I live in your head rent free that means you are also getting free money from the government because it costs you nothing to think about me all the time -
2022-12-07 at 4:31 AM UTCShit, the government steals billions right and left, and it all ends up in their personal bank accounts, and the bank accounts of their buddies in the filthy rich corporations. Not to mention, after all types of taxes are calculated for the middle class, the government ends up with 74.5% of their total income, only to steal it and divvy it up among their political friends.. Who cares if some little guy is getting $700/month of that stolen money? Not I.

no, its the cold.
our bodies restrict blood flow to the inner noses to minimize heat loss when its cold.
reduced blood flow in the inner nose means reduced pathogen-fighting cells inside our nose and therefor more bacterias and viruses managed to get in into our bodies. -

Congrats, you read the post...however up until the "recent discovery" closer proximity to people during winter/colder months was the predominant theory.
That was pretty much underlined during Covid when there were extremely LESS cases and reports of flu and colds due to peoples isolation...which kind of suggests this new report is horseshit. -

i didnt.
i have had this theory for a long time already.
same thing with why some people get a fever after spending some time in the rain while others dont.
same reason, blood vessel constriction. if you stay too long in the rain and you start to lose more heat than your body can generate, blood vessels in your limbs constrict to reduce heat loss.
its this lack of blood flow in your limbs for a prolonged period that causes excess buildup of pathogens and dead cells and toxins in your body, and once normal blood flow resumes your body goes into a fever mode to deal with these excess toxic wastes.
as long as your body can generate enough heat to keep blood flow in your limbs, you can stay as long as you like in the rain or snow without getting fever the next day.
