We're the same age, a young girl told me yesterday old guys tend to get into history or meat(cooking meat). I went the history route because I like reading about other places. -

I avoid politics now because it's a waste of time. Shit's going to happen no matter what I do. But I would seriously punch some faggot in the face if I saw them fucking with any memorial in my town. -

Lol that was a shot in the dark but looks like I was spot on. But yeah "preserving history" is definitely coded language for racist ideation most of the time. I don't really care about statues either way.
No but I do enjoy history myself though. I hated it in school because it was all about memorizing names and dates and boring shit like that. But there is something to it that you become more interested in it as you get older because you gain the life experience needed to contextualize it. -

I guess I value fiction and designs a lot more like metal work, seeing what can be created and trying not to let my imagination fade.
