and how do the missiles locate and home in to the subs from air ?

Fire Control locates the target, sub shoots out tube, tube goes to surface, missile flies out of tube, missile drops warhead, warhead goes down to certain depth, warhead goes boom. Doesn't have to be real close to target.

Why? It's a nuke war weapon, easier to kill an enemy sub. Torpedoes take a lot more precise effort to shoot another sub.

whats the blast radius of a nuke and does precision matter when nuking a sub.

Idk much about the firework province state country whatever law, im more up on explosives. I believe it's an entire legislation of its own though

Ha Ha Man that was 40 years ago and I didn't work on weapon systems. I probably knew it then, look on Janes Fighting Ships for specs.

Water molecules have a lot of mass, so it doesn't take much energy to crush objects with them. The explosion of a large firecracker on the surface of a pond is enough to stun fish swimming several feet under the water, so imagine what a nuclear detonation would do to a submarine.

Man you dig for info but I will not give you any classified info. I was an electronics tech and worked mainly on navigation equipment and ESM equipment and also operated it. I had to qualify on other things also but with a small crew you have to cross train.

My first time at sea during sea trials after leaving the shipyard they where flooding the negative tank(used to make you neutral buoyant) Chief forgot to close the valve and we started sinking fast before they noticed. I saw the depth gauge clicking over pretty fast and thought I was a goner. Probably could have done an emergency blow or something but it was my first time out and scared me some.
The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire!

that be kinda cool tho being like the one black girl on a boat of 4,000 dudes and you know they're all STD free, so as long as you're on birth control, you could probably have non stop cock action for eleven years straight (she's never had a bf to my knowledge)
