Is that why they sent poorly supported and lightly supplied armoured columns rushing down the chernobyl road towards Kyiv city centre?

Maybe one twist is when people in European countries this winter start asking why they have to suffer high electric, heating and fuel cost because their gov is blocking Russia and spending massive amounts on a war they have no involvement in.

That explains why they chose the hammer as their tool of execution I guess.
apparently it comes from an incident where Russian mercs in Syria smashed up some guy who deserted the SAA and who they thought was defecting to ISIS (there's been a lot of investigation into the murder but almost nothing about why it happened in the first place); they're REALLY into the KILL ALL TRAITORS thing. if half the rumours I've heard about them are true they're fucking animals and using them at all is probably going to backfire. I imagine Putin's not happy about the EU hammer stunt.
they're also often referred to as 'The Musicians', I'm not sure why though

I haven't really kept up with the war. I have friends from both countries, lucky they are here but have family there. Russia will of course end up with east Ukraine but I was hoping for a quick end to it. Yesterday the one girl said her town is completely destroyed. They just recently managed to bring their grandmother over on some refugee program. Sad when you talk to people actually suffered there.

unfortunately regardless of the outcome of the war, Ukraine will never recover as a state - just look at the population, the sheer number of people who have died or fled.
what will probably end up happening is Russia will take a large swathe of the east and Poland will take a chunk of the west, and that's probably the best outcome the people still living there can hope for

Yeah she said at least 1/3 of people have left the country. Ukraine has belonged to a lot of empires in the past and history wise just recently became its own country.

Going to meet Groceries next week. She'll have to take a train to Uzhorod then a bus to Vienna. Then she wants to come to Ireland. Amazing what having no internet or electricity can motivate a body to do. Thanks Vladdy Daddy for lighting a bit of a fire under her ass.
