2022-11-07 at 2:45 AM UTCNo the shadow of the earth is not when the moon is in New phase when the sun is in new phase it's completely blacked out from the Sun being directly in front of it on the other side. The Earth's Shadow only occurs twice a year as a full lunar eclipse and another twice a year as a partial lunar eclipse which casts Earth's shadow that's only 4 days out of the year the once a month or every 28 days cycle is when you don't see the moon or 14 days before that you see a full moon it has to do with the perspective View of the direction the sun is shining upon the Moon however that being said we don't see the backside of the Moon because it's in an orbital lock which means the same side of the moon faces us so we never see the other side of the moon

I am not talking about light. I didn't say a single word about light. I explained in simple terms why we only ever see the same half of the moons surface. Light has nothing to do with that. The moon can be full (reflected light) or new (no no reflected light) and the same half is still facing/visible to the Earth. -

It may need to stop and start tugging little by little but it could steer the rock to a designated location

Before we describe the phases of the Moon, let's describe what they're not. Some people mistakenly believe the phases come from Earth's shadow cast on the Moon. Others think that the Moon changes shape due to clouds. These are common misconceptions, but they're not true. Instead, the Moon's phase depends only on its position relative to Earth and the Sun.
The Moon doesn't make its own light, it just reflects the Sun's light as all the planets do. The Sun always illuminates one half of the Moon. Since the Moon is tidally locked, we always see the same side from Earth, but there's no permanent "dark side of the Moon." The Sun lights up different sides of the Moon as it orbits around Earth – it's the fraction of the Moon from which we see reflected sunlight that determines the lunar phase.
MOON PHASES
The new Moon occurs when the Moon, Earth, and Sun all lie along approximately the same line. Since the Sun is behind the Moon from Earth's perspective, the side of the Moon that faces Earth is dark.
At full Moon, the three bodies also lie approximately in a line, but this time, the Moon is on the opposite side of Earth, so the Sun illuminates the whole side facing us.

Whoa. I better take the word of an anonymous person on the Internet about the true nature of the Moon. -

We don't have a craft that is anywhere close or capable of any of that...we just launched the James Webb Telescope under the understanding it is too far out to be serviced.

They don't want to you see the elegant and intelligent design in creation, so they lie, and tell you the exact opposite of what it really is. Why do you think the shadow on the Moon is crescent? Because that curve is the shadow of the curve of the Earth. If the Sun really was causing the shadow on the Moon, it wouldn't be a crescent, it would be straight quarter and halves. -

2022-11-08 at 4:49 AM UTCOk, Mr. Smartypants. When the Moon is only other side of the Earth, where's the Earth's shadow? Just vanished, did it?
