2017-05-10 at 11:28 PM UTCTo do it properly, you need dozens of different nicks coming in from all different IPs, all posting hundreds of threads each, for days and weeks on end. Then reg gets closed. Once reg gets closed, the BBS stagnates and petty infighting ramps up big time. Eventually, members start dropping like flies, because they don't want to waste their time clicking flamewars in every single thread they come across. The end result is a ghost town BBS.

just close registration long enough to dissuade the spammers...eventually reopen and if spammers reappear...close it.

But what if it's an insider doing it, and not an outsider, and as soon as reg goes up again the spamming ramps up again? Then you have to close reg again right away. This has all been done already, you know. -
2017-05-10 at 11:45 PM UTCRussian hackers aren't really that good at social engineering and the spam is not being done en masse but each attack is procedurally generated to bypass the captcha and act as a cluster of users, the information is actually commercially important to these guys somehow but I haven't really figured that part out.
I guess the one thing I forgot to do was tell them specific times I just said do as much as you can as often as possible but didn't provide a time frame. -

I've never come across a hakkkker more persistent than myself, when it relates to an 'important' site needing to be kept up -

2017-05-11 at 5 AM UTCI don't think one needs to leak any website to any person in order to get carder spam. If you have a technology section, and keywords like "hacking", "database", "coding" you will get carder spam automatically.
