I used to think that before I discovered Walmarts boxed wines for $14...back in my drinking days of course. That's a good deal to get sozzled on $14 of beer wont do shit, $14 of boxed wine will result in loss of motor skills.

Box wine is actually pretty good. apparently, it doesn't turn (go vinegar) as fast as in a bottle. the downside is you have to let the glass breathe since it's kind of vacu sealed in a foil bag in the carton itself. so every time you pour a glass you have to let it sit for 5 minutes so it's not so vapory though some people like that. also blowing a cigar smoke into wine or brandy will remove the vapors.
Used to be considered tacky but now it's come a long way in acceptance and many wineries are doing it now -

2022-10-29 at 7:42 AM UTCCab is one of the best wines. if you get a good year. living near wine country isn't a benefit. actually they try and gouge you because they think you're a fucking tourist when you go up there.
just hit the fancy small wine dealers in the bay area and you can find some good deals. especially on unknown micro winery brands trying to take off. More than half are a pleasant surprize.
we used to red red wine in the 80s. that song started a few year trend but I used to get so fucking ill on wine hangovers on the cheap wines. something to do with nitrates or some shit which speed up the cheaper wine maturity
so instead of 2 years its like 16 months or some shit before they're ready to sell and taste Ok until you wake up the next day and regurgitate that shit
Beers do it too but you piss it out fast so you don't have as much of a hangover if you drink fluids like Gatorade before bedtime.
and leave it by your nightstand. and take a few ibuprofens. you'll wake up OK. then drink a half gallon of OJ and get a quick Re-Drunk effect for half an hour and then pass out on the fucking couch.
