God fucking dammit Lanny. You need to give someone to ban these spammers/bots on site. Someone trustworthy who's on here often.
Yes, there's risk of abuse, but it can be undone, and it would probably be way less of a risk and headache than dealing with this shit.
Is it possible to create a system where two or more people have to agree to ban someone in order to allow it? That may be a good mechanism.
Or just make registration much more difficult. We don't really get new members anyway.
