I had a thought a while ago, not sure if I posted it here, that the end of the novel Steppenwolf could be interpreted as having received the death penalty for taking life too seriously, as opposed to treating it as a game and accepting the absurdity. There are some people who literally do end up committing suicide or driving themselves insane because they took life too seriously.

Damn, I just checked up on what happened to Allie Brosh, writer of Hyperbole and a Half. I knew she had been going through serious severe depression to the point of wanting to commit suicide, but allegedly this happened:
So apparently in the last three years:
--Her sister committed suicide.
--Her marriage ended (she now lives in Denver, he now lives in Seattle).
--She had a cancer scare.
--She required major surgery.
--She has redirected her efforts into public speaking and abandoned her blog.
--This book has been canceled by the publisher.
Poor girl, she really resonated with me and I respect and appreciate her work. Life is some fucked up shit.

Aww, Ash still doesn't want to go outside. Before she didn't want to be out of sight of the door and would always quickly walk to it clearly wanting to get out if I closed it. She chose me. That's how cats are, sometimes they just appear into your lives. What a sweetie.
