2022-08-23 at 9:22 PM UTCJust watched a video of a guy about to pay for something at a store and when the register opens he leans over and tries to take some money and one of the workers pulls out a gun and shoots him in the head.
I don't know that I would necessarily shoot someone in the head for trying to rob my store and you can obviously say it falls into the 'stupid games stupid prizes' category, but at the same time if it were someone I cared about I can't say that I wouldn't be a little frustrated that the worker didn't just shoot him in the leg or do something else. I would understand in the heat of the moment why they did what they did but I would still be a little sad like fuck yeah he was a shitty person there who did a shitty thing but I don't think he deserved to DIE because of it.
Then again also in those situations you just never know who has what and maybe the robber has a gun too and wouldn't hesitate to kill.
No matter what I think we can all agree that the cops who forced that unarmed kid in the hotel hallway to play their twisted game of Simon Says before killing him after giving him five different directives all at once, were pieces of shit and should've died themselves. Particularly the one. -

If you're a cashier you should just give them whatever they want.
I rarely see videos where someone's wallet/phone are stolen in these instances.
They are after cigarettes, booze, and the money in the register.
Let em fucking have it. I can't imagine giving your life up for SHELL or BP.
what a sad end to life that would be -

Nah I disagree, every life is valuable
its mostly socioeconomic conditions and mental illness which drive people to commit these acts of violence.
both of which can be improved in modern society.
I don't see the point in placing blame on an individual for their environment. -

I don't disagree and especially if you're working for some corporation I would never try to escalate a situation that might get me killed just to save some dude a few hundred dollars. The BADASSES will say that's a pussy approach but I'd rather be a pussy than be dead if that's what it means to be a pussy. -

As a person who has actually robbed homes and businesses in my younger years I'll just say that I'm very lucky people weren't home in the homes I've been at the time otherwise I'd most certainly be dead.
Funny enough one I stole a gun from a cop's house. Ha I forgot all about that. I didn't go in intending to do that but it was just sitting on their dresser and I'm like well, when in Rome! I'm glad he wasn't there at the time. -

Did you ever rob a home with the intention of harming or killing someone? -

Not at all. I never had any weapons on me of any form other than my FISTS.
There was one house where I was in the master bedroom and had just found a little safe underneath the bed, and I heard the back door of the house open and I without hesitation just bolted to the front door and took off and I'm sure they heard me but they didn't chase me or anything.
Another time I went into this house and was there about 10-15 minutes just kinda leisurely going through their stuff and filling a couple plastic grocery bags with some wine and whatever the fuck I don't remember, and when I left their neighbor approached me and asked me how I was and what I was doing (they had noticed me going in the house and already called the cops). I made up some stupid thing on the spot that I knew who lived there or something but then I just dropped the bags and took off leaving my bike behind.
I went around a corner and hid behind this church for about 10 minutes just hoping for everything to blow over but then a cop started looking around the area I was and I could see him looking over fences and stuff while I was just sort of tucked in to a corner area hoping he wouldn't notice me but then he did and he drew his gun on me and made it all dramatic. I just resigned myself to the fact I was busted and thankfully he didn't kill me.
I actually have a lot of funny stories about my burglary days. -
