Start with reading this first.

Then join a bee club and let the locals fill you in on how it's done in your area.
Since I take it you live Texas it's a whole different thing that I deal with since I live in the northeast.
You also run the risk of nigger bee's invading you colony and taking over,I don't have that problem because nigger bee's don't like the cold.
Here is the war map.
And they do go to war in the mid fall when resources get low.
Last year my Russian bee's went at it with my Italian bee's, the back yard was a fucking war zone I couldn't even mow my lawn without getting stung. -
2022-08-19 at 12:14 AM UTCWow you need to BEE careful
-
2022-08-19 at 12:20 AM UTCThe bee club will also tell you where to get the best bee's for your area.
This spring my club did a huge order from an awesome breeder from Georgia.
We all paid ahead of time and when the truck came in I drove Rhode Island to pick them up.Kind of a pain in the ass but it was well worth it.
This year was my best yet had three hives make close to 300 pounds of honey. -
