   The scenario you paint equally applies to new tirea. I could also be hit by a meteor...I'm gonna go with 40 yrs road experience though on this one...rubber is rubber...Lets remeber all tires are used tires once you drive 1ft on them

    I have, had a complete blowout about 5yrs ago doing about 65, it wasn't a big deal (other than having to put the donut on in 100F weather).

    The Material racing tires are made out of is much more "sticky" than a standard road tire...that's why they are only good for a couple of hundred laps or less...they also swap them out if it rains for treaded tires.
