Gray hair at an early age

It doesn’t bother me but I do often get a lot comments, usually from friends or at least somewhat close acquaintances. Bad corporate jokes like “wow, this job is really turning you gray.” Jokes from friends like “do you have that old man strength yet.” Innocent questions from kids like “are you a grandpa because you have gray hair.” People guessing my age way wrong and always being surprised when I tell them I’m only 34. Pet names like Silver Fox. Could go on, but you get the idea.

My hair is somewhere in between these two gentlemen:

Make me feel better. Tell me it’s okay. Do I dye my hair? I really don’t want to and it would be weird at this point. It also seems less acceptable for men to dye their hair. Do I join in on their reindeer games? Tell them to fuck off? Stop giving a fuck myself?

At what age is it socially acceptable to have gray hair?

That's a normal age for like 20-25 percent of men.

My facial hair was greying at late 20s but I have a redish brown beard and dirty blonde hair. So I didn't notice grey until mid 40s on my head. If 8 had black or dark brown hair, you would have seen it.

We're supposed to live to be around 120 years of age but people started dying at age 30s and 40s before hitting 70s then 80s from whatever.

But it's environmental stress we're aging fast. Old ass slavics in Siberia living in their 90s eating fatty meat and starchy potatoes looking young for their age. Same in the Andes Mountains. 75 year old women looking upper 30s in the USA. Living to be average age of 90s

Sorry this is late. It’s frowned upon here for men not to dye their grey hair and I think it looks bad, or just reminds me of my pedo uncle. If you like it though you should keep it, if you want to dye it it doesn’t matter what people at work think. If you’re crazy you could slowly dye parts of it so some grey hair is showing, older men do that so people think they haven’t gone completely grey yet. It’s up to you.

I recently started letting my hair grow out longer. I’m actually going to a barber now whereas I spent the last 13 or so years giving myself a buzz cut. I have really thick and wavy hair, so I figured I would embrace it. I’ve been getting more compliments on the hair lately, gray hair and all. My only regret is not doing that sooner.

That’s probably best, having to dye your roots every week for the rest of your life isn’t fun. I spray-dyed mine grey once to look like that girl from The Stand, the contrast was nice with fake tan.

Before I dyed mine black the hair at my temples was becoming lighter, so I probably won’t see my natural colour again. It’s brown with a red tint.
