Satellite imagery shows Antarctic ice shelf crumbling faster than thought

Antarctica's coastal glaciers are shedding icebergs more rapidly than nature can replenish the crumbling ice, doubling previous estimates of losses from the world's largest ice sheet over the past 25 years, a satellite analysis showed on Wednesday.

I'd start a show called The Carbon Arrow Effect where I'd take carbon out of the air and form it into arrows which I'd then shoot into unsuspecting victim's lungs killing them live on camera.

As the sea level rises it will ultimately only bring us closer together. ❤️

IN PICTURES: French drought intensifies as River Loire dries up|As France continues to suffer its worst drought on record, many of its mighty rivers - including the Loire and the Dordogne - have in some areas dwindled to a trickle while in other regions lakes and reservoirs have vanished.

Almost all of France is now under some level of water restrictions and in many communes tap water has been rationed or even cut off altogether as supplies run dry.

The climate crisis-linked drought – intensified by an unusually hot summer – has dried out many subterranean water supplies, but the country’s rivers are also affected.

You can assume what you want Sparky. But you'll probably be wrong as usual.

I'll just share this, if the grid shutdown my refrigerator, well pump, and central air will still work just dandy Candy.

↑ shlomo parker, like europeans, learnt the hard way that wind and solar dont actually produce any useable energies.

  14. Beside solar and wind...Lets not forget the power of water to be self reliant if you have a creek on/near your property.

Not when the panels or windmills are 50 miles from your house and owned by a corporation. But here in this valley it's superb when it's right in your yard and owned by you.

But what the fuck would you know about electricity. You can't afford it.

express the energy harnessed by this contraptiin in watt (W).

I don't know it's not my generator...it's going to be based on the flow of the creek in question which would be widely variable wouldn't it. One with a heavy flow you could set up multiple generators...Power 24/7 unlike wind and solar.

You'd use it to recharge a bank of 12v batteries though...not direct power...so in conjunction with wind and solar you'd be all set.

if yiundont know wjat wattage it produces and retains then howmcan you be sure it can provide sufficiemt wattages for your/their needs.

Well obviously the person building the setup WOULD know the wattage output and his wattage requirements...it's a simple case of balancing them both...if you need more generating power you add another solar panel/water wheel/windmill etc...or decrease your usage.

    It's all very simple Vincent.
