I don't know if it's true or not...maybe urban legend....that alcohol on a plane at 30,000ft is twice as potent as it is on the ground. Sounds pretty bullshitty but there you go.

Especially if I'm flying home at night-time, there'll be nowhere to get food in Belfast.

Why would it be? I've had Bombay Sapphire on the plane but can't recall if it was different, I was always out of it.

I dunno..something to do with the air pressure?

Along the same lines as the thing about your feet legs swelling up?...maybe that's an urban legend too.

    Google says:

" A 1930s study revealed that higher altitudes can make you drunk faster. Recent studies, however, have found that airplane cabin pressure eliminates this effect. In other words, no, you don't get drunk faster on an airplane."

Idk, they don't want drunk passengers so I can't see them serving it if that were the case, or maybe they don't know.

I've wanted to do coke on top of Mount Everest for some time, wonder if it's the same principle.

Next time I go to England I'll climb to the top of Rivington Pike and drink a babycham...and let you know.

That sounds like factchecking. In reality airplane cabins are pressurised, but only to the equivalent of 8,000' to save money. You wouldn't want a much lower pressure than that or you'd have people starting to pass out.

I've drank on mountain hikes, beer. If there's a stream cool it in that. Are there no mountains in America?

Rip. Reminds me, people with light-coloured eyes are less affected by alcohol and meds.
