If Elon Musk buys Twitter
-
2022-04-27 at 2:23 AM UTCTwitter is a good medium for journalists because it's interface is simple but capable of dumping quick links and info of larger sizes. The way that social media is so integrated and gay for each other Twitter has the potential to be the first source for all journalists knowing they won't be molested by fi1ters and algorithms with clear favorites.
Maybe it'll be the same but worse but either way I believe change is ultimately good because the status quo has become synonymous with toxic and pointless internet shit. I like the way it appears Elon Musk thinks compared to whoever is pulling the j00 strings at Twitter rn. People crying about it are just being factional faggots -

The parts of twitter I'm on are basically just forums though. Pretty much everyone is pseudonymous, and it's great. Reminds me a lot of old school (expert subforum) totse, but there's no nazi mods like meta or speckles crying about how much work it is banning people - just insightful people self-organizing and quietly blocking each other until a fairly uniform and inscrutable community emerged from the chaos. Very nice. Anonymity is vital in this context, and I suspect this is a more common use case for social media than you believe. While this is undeniably a niche, there are definitely similarly niche corners of twitter that are all functioning as the modern equivalent to ye olde forums. -

Doesn't matter: 240char Twitter moron isn't a forum, it's a social network for microblogging and makes much more sense to limit it to real identities. -

That's a feature - you contain them so they don't get exposed to any hot takes or genuinely spicy stuff, just stupid cuckservative talking points. -

Ahh right, once you go from regular blogging - where anonymity is fine - to microblogging, the real IDs have to come out. This is known. -

Yes I said FB is conservative in that quote you quoted me in. Thank you for agreeing with me. However I don’t care about the relative sizes of their user base, as both have created the same the same thing. -
2022-04-27 at 12:28 PM UTCLeftists never get banned on Facebook, only people with right wing opinions. It's an echo chamber for liberals.
