Just run the reaction until all the lithium is used. You shouldn't over think it too much.

I wanna ask some questions too. What are the yelds from the shake and bake method ? Arent you thinking that 1g of Li (1 AA strip) is too much for 2,4g of pseudo ? Actually 2 moles of Li metal needed to reduce it (1g of Li can reduce 11,8g of pseudo). Too much Li and it will be over reduced… Also how you do the proccess using Sodium Magnesium Oxide Aggregate ? This metal will go to the bottom of the bottle, and there a lot of water exists from the ammonium nitrate/sulfate NaOH reaction.
