Besides which you're missing the point entirely, probably deliberately.
-They know the power of ukraine
-They would have planned from the start to meet resistance
-Nobody plans for the battle to go perfectly and to meet all objectives day one, that's retarded
-They haven't got a numbers advantage, and at best their training and equipment are only slightly better (or worse in the case of infantry weapons)
-The US would never pass up a chance to interfere and vassal states always go along with them

All of that was known from before the war started, which means it was known to the russian state before the war

If it's not something you can understand that wars aren't quick then I don't know what to tell you

Edit: Ah shit Aldra already said most of what I meant before this, I'll read all I missed fully next time.

    You're a mess

Wars/invasions/"special operations" begin with major targetted combat operations, then logistics and resupplying, then more major operations. As it stands Russia has had trouble with resupplying/logistics and their initial surge can't move beyond their week 2 borders.

Maybe they just wanted to carve out more of the donbass but if so they went about it in a dumb way and COMPLETELY FAILED TO ENCIRCLE ANY MAJOR CITY (besides mariupol which is a gimme and kherson which can only serve as a hub and forward operating base for westward/northern attacks that have completely stalled)

So maybe Russia just doesn't care about the domestic cost of a stagnated conflict (wouldn't be the first time) but it's going to have to get alot messier before they make any more gains. As it stands, ukraine feels pretty emboldened and has alot less to lose.

Russia has shown its army to be weaker and more poorly coordinated than anticipated. The initial outrage has turned to bemusement at their ineffectualness. They're moving units from Georgia (where they conducted a successful "special operation" previously that wrapped up quickly and they got what they wanted) and the far east. Nobody really has much incentive to capitulate to Russia anymore if the Russian army can be kicked out of your town and will leave their tanks behind them.

While Azov proper is currently in big trouble, i do find it interesting how far reaching their influence has been especially the commentary Aldra made on them and pals functioning as Commissars to regular units of multiple branches. How the hell did that happen?

It's also a pretty brilliant strategy of taking over the armed forces of a country with little numbers(Comparatively). Combine this with political elements and good PR. It is reminiscent of how the NSDAP came to power in Germany. By the time Hitler was made Chancellor the entire framework of government had a 'shadow' in the form of a parallel organizational structure from the NSDAP with their distinctive ideological bent.

I've read that Azov has a branch for policing and security duties and that in fact before the war were actively involved in low level police operations alongside the regular police. Think patrols and such. And that's just another example of having a shadow organization ready and waiting.

It is plausible then, that given enough time the NatSoc columns would have at least attempted something similar to an 'Machtergreifung'. Or the complete overthrow of the previous political system. Now that would have been interesting, and i wonder how The West would have reacted if then and only then Russia would have invaded.

    Interesting to think about.

Also, thanks Aldra for the SitRep, i mentally checked out of the conflict for like a week and a half because i find 95% of sources to be lacking. Your analysis is always appreciated.

New Caspian report. Shirvan (who is Azerbaijani) seems to take seriously some fairly high Russian loss figures.

He tries to be impartial but he's bias towards then over nagorno karabakh or whatever. If you watch his videos on the conflict you can hear his voice breaking when talking about how much he hates Armenia and their Russian backers

Back in 2013 or 2014 I sent him a message on YouTube about doing a video on the military coordination of gulf states and he sent me a message a few weeks later saying he might but then Yemen kicked off and he probably covered it across a range of videos, idk I degenerated and got locked up not too long after.

    Tl dr he's dreamy

Two Ukrainian helicopters blew up an oil depot in Belgorod, inside Russia. 8 tanks on fire according to the Russians. Amazing work.
