I found a precut section of astro turf that would be perfect for the kitty corner but I dunno how to lay it.
Do I need padding underneath?
Do I need to seal the basement floor first?
Do I have to use tack strips?
Can I just use a shit fuck ton of glue?

does it leak? yes, is astro turf going to react poorly to some leakage? probably not,, will padding be effected by water leaking? yes,, no padding.
tac strips would have to be locked down to the crumbling floor right?? yup well fuck that itl never work....
last question ,, do i want a smooth floor under astro turf?
kinda,, but portland mortor mix and make a thin batch to poor over holes and cracks watch videos get busy

i went to the hardware store and looked at carpet tiles again.
$100mfor 60 sq ft of self stick ugly ass carpet tiles.
I'd rather glue down a pretty rug ffs.
I wish I had more confidence in my ability and I'd just buy some plank flooring to throw down.

So here's how it's done...
Get 100lbs of human excrement and shovel it onto the floor making sure there is an even layer. You can get the whole family involved especially your new toddler and let them waddle in it for an hour or so to make sure that it covers all the problem corners and nooks and crannies.
Once this is done you can burn your house down and claim there was a large group of homeless people living in your basement unbeknownst to you for years and report the incident to insurance. They will come out and try to do an inspection but seeing as how everything will be covered in human feces they probably won't wanna poke around too much. This will guarantee you a decent chunk of money then you can buy a new house with a nice cement basement.
This is how I do all my home handy work.
Edit: oh fuck you wanted carpet. I read it wrong...fuck that's a whole other feces involved insurance scam.
