Wars take a long time and Ukraine is a massive country. It took the yanks 3 months to take Baghdad in 2003. It took the Nazis a solid month just to take Kyiv. Really tho the taliban took the whole country in a few weeks but they didn't really have to fire any shots. I think the only surprise would be the narrative and international condemnation makes it hard to ukranians to be supportive of Russian encroachment

Today if I were him I'd have one of my advisors get me a big bag of mushies and I'd tell them to "handle the situation out there! What am I paying you for anyway?!"
