   Yeah, public sector pays shit, at least the jobs that get advertised. The range here is ridiculous but the upper end is actually better than the average. I watch the state department listings because I think the free travel would be cool to do for a while, but the salary is almost always under 100k and the ones that are above have crazy experience requirements. That kind of thing is usually indicative of a skill ghetto, same as with big non-technology corporations of contracting firms.
