This is some pretty shoddy journalism. The overuse of quotation marks and claiming Putin almost certainly approved and perhaps even orchestrated, the bombings. I mean at least they have a source? They also claim alleged and mysterious circumstances then state the record speaks for itself: Putin is a killer and war criminal.

When the Americans did the things you claimed, with the exception of Manifest Destiny and the resulting devastation to the indigenous population, they were not trying to annex the land permanently. When the US used nuclear weapons to end WW II, they were the only ones who had them and saved countless American and Japanese. -

1. The Japanese were already in the process of surrendering to the Soviets after they decimated the elite Kwantung Army
2. Even US strategic bomber command deemed that conventional strikes would've been just as effective given the state of the Japanese military
The reason the US insisted on using nuclear weapons was as a threat to the Soviets, mass murder of an astronomical number of Japanese civilians was just incidental in that goal. -
