When it actually 'happens', it's not an invasion, it's a peacekeeping mission meant to stop the Ukraine from exterminating the people of the breakaway republics. They've declared the republics sovereign, not taken them as their own, and instead of 'rolling tanks over the border' as the hysteria machine has been saying, they've struck several targets with standoff weapons in order to blunt the Ukrainian offensive.
As I predicted. The only thing I didn't predict was that Russia would actually send a tripwire force.

I don't know how to make it any clearer, or really even how to talk to someone with such a low IQ.
Go look up the Minsk Agreements and the Ukrainian refusal to implement them, even after signing them.
Look at how many schools, power and water treatment plants have been shut down or destroyed due to Ukrainian shelling over the last week.
Russia has was essentially forced to defend the people of the Donbass (who are largely Russian), and in doing so they have used standoff weapons to seriously degrade the UAF's ability to wage war on the breakaway republics. They have not taken any territory and have not engaged in combined arms warfare.
Russian involvement is a direct result of escalating UAF attacks on the populations of the LDNR, and so far has been extremely measured.The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire! -

At that point the US can either deal with the PR and optics nightmare of a few hundred thousand slaughtered Americans, or throw its weight around to make Mexico play nice. Except that Ukraine having NATO weapon emplacements is a lot more concerning for RU.

it'd be more like if Russia toppled the Mexican government and put their own puppet in place, then Tijuana decided 'fuck that we're independent now'.
Then the new Mexican government signed an agreement to partially recognise their independence, but instead of honouring it bombed them for 7 years straight.
Does the US just sit by as all their expats there get wiped out? Does the US just sit there as Russia starts to move strategic weapons into Mexico proper? -

There's been a large explosion at Ivano-Frankivsk Airport, but given how far west it is I'm not sure if it was hit or if there was some kind of accident in the panic
