I don't know why the worlds primary powers don't just meet together and say ok Taiwan to China, Ukraine to Russia, and the United States just scoops up Cuba and everyone just goes home victorious to their people and the world is a little more divyed up.

The real game at the moment isn't about territory or resources, it's about the US being able to set the tone for the rest of the world. Since the end of WWII it's been able to create and implement sets of rules for the rest of the world to abide by - this 'monopolarity' was temporarily threatened by the Soviet Union, but since then it hasn't had any real enemies and has just been breaking under the weight of its own commitments and excesses.
Russia and China, for the last five years or so have been working to chip away at the current order to replace it with a 'multipolar' system. The trick is to dethrone the US as the global hegemon without triggering a war that'll essentially force everyone to start from scratch.

“The subdivision of the formation of the Southern Military District, together with the border detachment of the FSB of Russia, prevented the violation of the state border of Russia by a sabotage and reconnaissance group from the territory of Ukraine.
February 21, 2022 at about 6 am Moscow time in the area of the settlement. Mityakinskaya, Rostov region on the section of the state border of the Russian Federation with the Republic of Ukraine, the border detachment of the FSB of Russia discovered the penetration of a sabotage and reconnaissance group.

I was going to try to learn Russian many moons ago but gave up. Would be so unnerving to talk loudly in Russian in public. Was just just reading about a local robbery where one of the robbers was described as "having an accent possibly russian" and wondered if they affected it for intimidation or if the shop keeper was just super triggered by all the Russian hysteria

also appears that yes, it was the same group of BMPs that attacked the ammunition depot, it was supposed to destroy a border command post on the Ukrainian side but got lost and mistook a Russian outpost for their target
