Do you feel that psych drugs are harmful?

I'm taking a few for mood problems and my initial concern was that it would harm my creativity. I'm a contemplative sort of person by nature and I have a rich internal life, so I had my reservations about drugs like lithium carbonate and citalopram because I thought that they would have a negative influence in this dimension. As far as I can tell, though, they haven't changed those habits in terms of how frequently I engage in creative projects, nor have they affected the quality of my ideas.

Have you got something to say about psychiatric interventions and your personality? If so, what?

Yes. Antipsychotics make me miserable. Seroquel gives me akathisia guarenteed. Unless i take a minuscule amount, then it just makes me kind of tired from the antihistaminergic effects, centrally active antihistamines tend to give me extremely bizarre and unusual dreams. Also SSRI's either make me anxious and on one occasion gave me some type of intrusive OCD thoughts about violently assaulting random people.

I don't respond well to psychiatric drugs it's fair to say. Not that i ever had a prescription but i tried multiple on a couple of occasions. I tend to avoid them these days.

Antipsychotics are pretty awful they either cause you immediate issues or down the road issues.

My sister's currently losing her fucking mind while taking straterra, so yes, to a degree. My other sister functions just fine with citalopram, as well. It depends on the patient and the medication. I don't think my batshit crazy sister has been properly diagnosed or medicated, so her sanity is suffering because of it. To be quite fair, she's lying to her doctors, so you can't really hold them totally accountable for it.

I tried to have her committed yesterday, but she denied the crazy shit she said and did before she got to the hospital and pretended to be totally fine, so they let her go. She clearly doesn't want the help she desperately needs.

She needs to get off the strattera right now if she has symptoms of psychosis.

Neurontin and Zoloft make me 10percent less miserable. Antipsychotics are Satan and add meds are just methamphetaschemes. Benzos should be schedule II for extreme cases

I think ANY drug prescribed that one isn't 100% comfortable with could possibly cause unwanted side effects simply because the patient isn't on board even sugar pills have been proven to cause this.

Yup, something that only increases norepinephrine is likely not a good drug for her.

Some people need them, if you are one of those people PM me I can probably get you any drug cheaper than your doctor can.

She won't tell her doctors and refuses to listen to anything at all that I have to say about anything. My seven year-old doesn't hold a candle to her tantrums. She will literally put her fingers in her ears and talk over you instead of listening to reason.
