"It is administered by the courts of Northern Ireland, with ultimate appeal to the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom in both civil and criminal matters."

I’m not taking sides tbh. I think the fighting would end if Ireland were united but they have a corrupt government, heavy taxes and no NHS. I’ve never voted because both the DUP and Sinn Fein were anti-abortion. I think it’s doing okay since N.I has only existed a hundred years.

I was assuming your father was telling stories to explain his lack of presence in your life and was surprised this was not the case. I have a friend from northern Ireland and his father was a repairman during the troubles and he told me a story about going to a small flat with an old lady who answered the door, then went in a back room to fit an outlet and assumed he would be alone but there were 6 or 7 large young men with a cash of weapons on the floor of the room, which was essentially a "safe house" for the IRA. He fixed the outlet and tried not to shit his britches then on the way out the old lady said "thank you now, let me advise you not to go to the post office tomorrow" and sure enough the next day the post office blew up.
He said when he would go in a bar he would check the pictures on the wall and give his Christian denomination based on whether there was the queen or the pope or what obscure folk hero adorned the walls. Very confusing time. He said that driving a car itself was dangerous business and he would get out and walk through checkpoints because it was easier sometimes.
Anyways, glad they don't play a big part in your life anymore and fuck the queen I hope she croaks by the time I'm finished typing this sentence.

He didn’t go to England til I was 21. He had a lot of wild stories but they’d turn out true, not the ghost ones. One was that he was in a car and my uncle was drunk driving, there was an animal on the road so the car swerved into a ditch and rolled over, and all this counterfeit money went flying everywhere that my dad had no idea about, then they got a friend to take the car away before police got there. I think it was true because I remember my aunt talking about telling her husband to get rid of the counterfeit money.
When my friend from England was over I let him know what kind of bar it was by saying either slainte or cheers when we got our drinks.
Meikai I understand why you’re angry but you’re scaring me now.

You can't choose a government who builds a war machine for oppressing somebody, then fund said war machine, and then subsequently cry foul when the enemies you made recognize you as such.

At every turn, the American people perpetuated the violence against innocent Muslims in the middle east, and so the American people were fair targets. There's no such thing as an "innocent". Either England is not a democracy, and so the citizenry is innocent of the sins of their government… or, as England believes itself to be and claims it is, England is a democracy, and everything they do is done with the tacit approval and explicit funding of their citizenry.
Not exactly. The citizens pay their taxes with the intention that they will be well used. The government fascists are the ones who make the decision to use those dollars for evil purposes. It's not like the people should not pay taxes so their roads aren't paved, their bridges aren't repaired, and their garbage piles up. We can't redirect blame. If the IRA really was an organic, grass roots, native resistance, their targets would be the people who are ultimately in charge of all that money. No, the IRA is just another front for the very perpetrators of the violence and crime. Pay attention to what people do, not what they say. You know that old saying, "Actions speak louder than words."

Over here in the western hemisphere, the terrorists in the government take a whole different approach. They set up fronts like Facebook, Twitter and Google, then they control the people and shape the narrative for their evil schemes through those, posing as neutral bodies that want to unite and combat fascism. But in reality, they are the fascists. They control your thoughts and actions, not through bombs and bullets, but through "fact checkers", always noble and virtuous, yes, literal champions of diversity, truth, integrity and the betterment of the human species. Evil will never come with the face of a monster. It will always comes under the face of the hero, the savior, the ultimate God of all that is good and pure.
