Building a SECRET Fona Base in my Girlfriend's Basement
-
2022-01-11 at 2:01 AM UTCShe's pretty much got her house set up real nice already with her stuff out and there really isn't any extra room for anything if I were to move in.
The basement though is unfinished and has a little down there stored but it's mostly free space.
You guys know me pretty well and know I need my office to function.
That being said, my plan is to finish it a little and make it usable for my needs.
Starting with a floor do you have any suggestions on a cheap easy to install over concrete flooring idea?
It doesn't need to be luxury.
I just want something I can put down fast with little prep work that will allow me to walk around in my socks and slide around in my office chair.
Suggestions please. -
2022-01-11 at 2:23 AM UTCI'd use urine or feces that's just me tho but it's easy
Instead of using ur toilet just release yourself onto the basement floor and use your face to smooth it all around making sure to get wall to wall and corner to corner coverage
Depending on the amount of food you eat and the size of the basement that will determine how long thr job will take -
2022-01-11 at 2:58 AM UTCDescribe everything about this woman in great detail, especially her basement. I missed the saga in your life where you found your next ting after shell
-
2022-01-11 at 3 AM UTCFona you need ADHD medication. You're always starting like five projects at once without finishing anything. You create so much work and stress for yourself.

I left her out of here on purpose because you guys are all dicks.
But things are getting to a point where I might let you all in on some info but right now I got to go to bed.
I really don't want that horrible experience of having my life or hers doxxed and I am sure several of you are already capable of doing that to me now. -
2022-01-11 at 6:16 AM UTCAnyways, I was thinking of looking into interlocking rubber tiles sort of like this,
They look easy to put down and are child safe which I guess doesn't matter on account of the kid is just going to eventually slam into the concrete walls and hurt herself that way but at least she could jump around and not get her feet dirty.
I'm not sure how easy these interlocking tiles are to clean though but I do hear you don't have to put down any matting under the floor or do any prep work beyond sweeping.
Also Im not sure how well they will stay in place and I'm not trying to glue anything either.
Other options I've looked into have been vinyl plank like this,
But I'm not really trying to level the floor and I'm sure as fuck not trying to put down plywood first as that immediately makes this project too costly.
I have had good luck and bad luck with self adhesive tiles in the past. Most of the time if used anywhere besides a bathroom they seem to stick pretty decent but the second you piss on them they come up.
I guess there is always the carpet option but Im not a huge fan of that due to stains and animals will just tear it to shit.
Beyond the flooring, the walls are concrete and the most I care to do with them is maybe just hit them with paint and leave them concrete as paneling looks like crap period.
The ceiling I wasn't going to touch as Im more of a functionality guy and having everything exposed just makes my life easier when something needs fixed.
It would be nice if I could find a way to get her washer and dryer down stairs to free her up space upstairs.
Maybe throw a shit couch in the basement and a tv.
My office will take up a decent bit of it but it would still be nice to have a spot to sit down and watch television.
This project will also probably give me room to set up the foosball table.
It by no means will add much value to her house so I'm not trying to go out of my way here.
The real value that it will add is by freeing up more upstairs space for when she decides to redo her kitchen and maybe open the walls up some. A license contractor will have to do a lot of that though.
She has a vision and Id rather just move to a nicer house but in the mean time I might as well make myself comfortable and see if I can enable her vision a bit while not getting too carried away.
My hope is in 3-4 years at most we would be living somewhere else. -
2022-01-11 at 6:18 AM UTChow often do you piss on the floor that it becomes a concern for what type of flooring to use
-
2022-01-11 at 6:27 AM UTCI'm not terrible worried about pissing on the floor in this case.
-
2022-01-11 at 8:44 AM UTCYou're making a five year plan but have been with her for less than ten months?

That's because he gets past the point of no return are realizes we were all right and it's too late to fix it now, then tries throwing more money at it like he's rich when in reality all he's doing is throwing away any chance at a future. Case and point would be how he's bought what, 4 cars instead of doing rotors on one.

Yet you post the literal maximum amount of personal information you can here.

Not going to work, dumb fuck. For several reasons. It will actually take value AWAY from the house too when it starts trapping moisture and causing black mold.

Yep, classic Fona. I hope she kicks him out and takes all his shit because he won't be able to prove what's his from what's hers. -

2022-01-13 at 3:38 PM UTCDon't spend ANY money in/on your girlfriends house...save the money to get one of your own.

2022-01-13 at 4:28 PM UTCThis plan is terminated.
After looking around her basement again the other day I have determined that the current positioning of the furnace, water heater and some pipes would make it very difficult to turn her basement into a semi-finished living space.
I'm still going to throw a desk and computer down there but other than maybe laying down a rug to cover the floor, I'm just not interested in doing much with it. -

You just need to frame some walls around that shit, build a utility room around the utilities. You're just too lazy to actually do that. -
2022-01-15 at 4:06 PM UTCYou can still do the feces floor plan. It's known to be great for making it around those pesky heaters or support beams.
If your face can't get all the way into the corners or flush up against your heater and water heater just crack a few eggs around the troublesome areas for quick and easy coverage! Also use your tongue to really get in those corners and against the walls for pristine coverage.
Best thing fona, it's practically free! You see, the human body creates its own urine and feces just for things like this. It's also great nutrient packed survival food! 👍
