Depends on how it's laid out. My mom's old house had the furnace and water heater next to each other but accessed from opposite directions, and framing around them would have made the basement laid out like a big J because the stairs would have ended right at the corner of the water heater.

I bet his girlfriend doesn't even have a house though. Normally Fona would have posted like 60 pictures with some insane plan like how he's going to put California Redwood ship lathe up and have Italian Marble counter tops for a desk.

Update: This plan isn't totally off the table but how I had originally hoped to do it is out of the window.
Over the weekend I did get a desk, computer, and a couple chairs down into her basement.
I forgot to take pictures of where I ended up moving them down there after realizing that under a bunch of copper water lines was a bad idea.
Luckily I did find another outlet to plug stuff in at and even another light socket although the pull string is broken.
There is so much to do down there to get everything set up right and the area cleaned up but I plan to tackle it a little bit every week and hopefully in the near future all the trash will be gone and I've been looking around for scrap carpet to just throw on the floor as a temporary solution as the office is hopefully only temporary.
I don't mind concrete walls but I never liked concrete floors.
