   Yea most prisons have a library, but the books are old and limited, they’re much more entertaining if you’re able to get drunk before reading or listening.
   Production of hooch increases for Xmas but the seasonal brewers are frequently caught - they order a lot of sugar from the canteen (commissary in the US), the canteen tells the prison staff, the staff wait until the hooch is nicely brewing and then do a targeted search and the hooch is seized and the prisoner given a nicking.
