Couldn't have died at a more convenient time! (well I suppose 99k would have been more convenient).
The clutch went out on my manual after 56k and I had to pay for that.
Lucky, your timing was just right so you got to blow a tranny for free.
Yeah, clutch replacements are fucked up how with how hard they make them. -
2021-11-19 at 5:14 PM UTCI put a clutch in my Tacoma last spring, it was not all that difficult , I took 5 days to do it but only worked like 2 hrs a day on it so I wouldnt get pissed off

Yeah, 10 hours to replace a consumable - something that it is known will need to be replaced several times in the normal lifespan of the vehicle. That's ridiculous. -
2021-11-19 at 5:38 PM UTCYes, as you discerning gentleman already know..it's a disgrace how manufacturers of not just cars but MANY products now make it as difficult as they can for you to work on/repair/maintain your own property.
I'm a big supporter of the Right to repair movement. -

its a 3 or 4 hr job, with lift and air tools. it cost me 150 in parts and they wanted 1000 to do it for me -
2021-12-09 at 6:57 AM UTCcosmetic if you're driving people around. because visible quirks can sometimes be signs o a serious blowout ready to happen.
I have a history of buying new tires well before their expected life span is up.
the tred indicator of 3mm or 5mm or dime/quarter whatever isn't thing you should be checking. check the inner wall while you're at it. -

Therein lies the problem with this outdated argument…ONCE manual transmission was the better option…but that was 20-30yrs ago…an automatic IS the better option on price/availability/performance/comfort. You have to be pretty retarded these days to "insist" manual is better when clearly it is outclassed in EVERY way by an automatic.
…or you have an extremely small penis and your dad drilled into you that REAL men drive manual…when in fact as mentioned…it's only insecure men with very small willies that dispute the facts of the matter.
Too bad you fall into that category, have you looked into extension surgery?.

One advantage manual will always enjoy is reliability/durability. It is also better for towing heavy loads. But for a normal passenger vehicle anyone who prefers manual is a masochist. -

Another scam highlighted. The cost of rotating your tires once (usually about $30) is enough to buy 1 good used tire...4 rotations and you paid for a full set of good used ones.
Same with that bullshit alignment scam...

2021-12-29 at 10:34 PM UTCalignments problems will start shredding off the edge of tires. it really is something to invest in if it's really bad.
the first to do is making sure all tires are filled properly at a gas station, then road test it on the highway, find a lane with few cars and let go of the steering wheel.. see how quickly it drifts to the side. if it barely drifts, it's probably not worth paying 100 bucks to do (which can be way more for AWD). but if it does it right away, get it done.
and when they rotate, they check for balance again. to see if it was done right (Or a good service station will do so.. go to big-o or American Tires even if you don't buy tires from them)
they may check that the weights were not balanced right and replace them properly. that might be why the tire is showing more wear.
also Potholes. fuck me. Detroit, Oakland or any cities shitty side of town or even wealthy cities who refuse to have low income housing and get denied federal and state funding have shitty roads as well (how Ironic). but the latter can afford new tires and their own fastrak lanes. the former just steel middle class folks cars (cause they dont live in gated communities again how Ironic)
