Are you on a fixed schedule that is guaranteed for that salary? Or do you have to stay at work until the tasks are done no matter what on some days? Do you ever take work home with you? Salary is a sucker trap. Piece work or contracts is where it's at.

I do maybe 1-2hrs actual work a day...but get paid a well above average salary.

I don't usually buy tires, I buy a car or truck like the one I'm driving that has newer tires on it ,, that way I get parts and tires for less than new tires

this summer I got new snow tires plus a truck with a fine engine new shocks good exhaust sweet seats and good bumpers all on my daly driver right now except the engine, I'll save that till my motor dies or slows down enough to warrant that swap

tires would have cost me 700 but got the whole truck for a grand

If I wanted to know the average US income I would have googled it. I asked what you think it is.

    It's less than I make.
  11. Originally posted by Speedy Parker A decent set of tires will last 40k miles. The average amount driven in the U.S. is 15k per year. I am retired and drive a bit less than average around 12k. However about 6k of that is on my bike. So a decent set of tires on a car will last me 5 years. After 5 years they get changed even if they only have 10k miles. Also I don't sweat pennies the way your broke ass has to.
