Alcohol has been ingrained into societies around the world for thousands of years, for many years it was seen as primary "food" source along the lines of bread...it was safer to drink beer for example than to drink water (which was usually untreated). That's why sailors were given rations of beer and grog etc.
Basically the history of alcohol use is tied to the history of the world, it's expansion, it's trade routes...same with tobacco...both were often used as "peace" offerings (peace pipe) between tribes and traders.
Meth isn't ingrained into society...it's not widely used as alcohol is, it has never been used to improve relations between warring tribes, It's never been used as a safe alternative to water or going for a nice walk.
Everyone likes a beer buzz...not many people like meth sores.

I don't know. Alcohol just doesn't have the buzz I like anymore. Im borderline diabetic.
plus I stop drinking alcohol for years then went back on it a bit then back off for another 5 years or so.
it just sucks. when you're young and full of energy its great fun I guess. but it just is a shit show for people over 35-40 years of age
