2021-11-29 at 2:27 PM UTCit wlso seems to be owrt of the os set up so it does an auto search for known hashes not stresming vontrnt off the web or basicslly within ios15 if someone is dumb to save videos within the photos app and later sync them to icloud.

most of the important stuff is closed-source and as best I can tell they don't even let you compile to machine code -

All I know is I have an iPhone and don’t care because it does everything I need and never had an issue with it so I’m happy with it
That’s why I don’t need to whine about how much better and cheaper other products are
I mean, have you been to the apple store and tested all the products yourself to know they suck? Or does the price keep you away?
I’m guessing you just read shit about it online -

All smartphones affect your privacy to one degree or another. Doesn't matter whether you're an Apple fan boy or an Android lover.
Which is why i have burner phones, use VOIP services(Which can have it's own issues) but when i do get a smartphone it's so that i can root it and run a custom ROM in the case of Android. I might run a modified kernel on it depending on what i want the phone to do. -

But aren’t most things starting to invade our privacy these days? One day you’re gonna have to move on and get with the programme -

They are, and no my dude. There is plenty you can do if you value your privacy it just takes some skill and work. I don't mind putting some of my time into that. But if you would mind doing the same, that's your choice. -

This is a huge invasion of privacy
I discovered this by accident yesterday when I opened a picture and saw that the text on the photo had been highlighted
Then I remembered that they were going to hash pictures and videos to check for child porn
You know they’re going to bring this to Mac OS and you fucking know Microsoft will be doing this as well
Privacy is effectively dead and now every device you will own from a monitor to your operating system and your eventually hmd will be constantly monitored and all your actions will be cataloged
The tech industry needs to be stopped and these people must be taken to court
They can’t just do this shit without public consent
Only Normies buy Apple products anyway. -
2021-11-30 at 2:49 PM UTCNah apple is very aesthetic
I would have gotten an imac eventually but not after this
I’m just going to have one machine for windows software and another running Linux for general purpose computing -

2021-11-30 at 4:10 PM UTCApple is like the dumbed down version of Android.
"Sorry you're not adult enough to decide what you can install on your own device, we'll make the decisions for you and charge you twice as much, then we'll release firmware updates to slow your device down so you'll go and buy the newer one" -

Why do you care so much about price?
I mean I ok I get it you do mostly shop at Aldi and charity shops
Don’t tell me you’re wearing another man’s second hand underpants right now
Also I’ve had my iPhone over 2 years and it has the latest firmware so I think they’ve quit slowing them down when it got found out about
Apple has been fined 25 million euros (£21m, $27m) for deliberately slowing down older iPhone models without making it clear to consumers.
The fine was imposed by France's competition and fraud watchdog DGCCRF, which said consumers were not warned.
In 2017, Apple confirmed that it did slow down some iPhones, but said it only did so to "prolong the life" of the devices.
Apple said in a statement that it had resolved the issue with the watchdog.

iphone/ipad firmwares automatically reduce the clock speed based on how old the device is, the reason being they want to maintain battery life (by reducing load) given that the battery's capacity slowly reduces over time -

It's not about the price dumbo...it's about the stupid fucks who pay extra to be told "Hey you're a fucking dummy who can't be trusted with decisions about his own equipment...we're going to charge you an extra $200 dumbo tax"
It's funny you were talking smackadoodoo about manual transmission cars but then are an apple user
Fucking lol as the lovely Bill Krozby used to say.
