   I am a huge horror movie fan, however my favorite subgenre is the slasher genre... Halloween is a slasher from 1978 and undeniably a classic even in the mainstream culture. The killer from the movie is the 21 year old Michael Myers.
   
   Other undeniably classic movies are both Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street, the former which gave us Jason Voorhees and the famous hockey mask and the latter which gave us Freddy Krueger and his knife-wielding glove.. these two also are big mainstream icons.
