Political centrism is the only reasonable position

  1. #41
I liked the old days better, when women belonged to their men as possessions, they weren't allowed to work a job, weren't allowed to vote, weren't allowed to drive, and weren't allowed to make major decisions about anything. They stayed at home and took care of the family. Times were a lot simpler and more efficient.

They deny the truth of climate change.

They deny the truth that Covid vaccines save lives.

They deny the truths of Jan. 6th.

They denied the truths of Rump's impeachments…TWICE.

They deny that Rump lost the election even though it was by an amazing SEVEN MILLION VOTES.

I'd trust a Republican as far as I could throw Rump's fat ass.

    Who's truth? Time Magazine's?

    this is a fact.

Counterpoint, Byzantium/the Eastern Roman Empire flourished as a result of Theodora's influence. Famously that influence was the one thing that prevented a fall of Constantinople to rioters. The Hagia Sophia wouldn't exist without her.

1000 years. 1 woman. It was all her. Not Justinian. Not Belisarius.

    Her.

theres nobody more arrogant, irritating and delusional than pseudointellectual pieces of shit like centrists who think that anything not conforming to their narrowminded worldview is "extremism" that should be dismissed.

the far left and far right are radical patriots who wanna take america back to the people it belongs to, the centrists wanna preserve the dysfunctional status quo at all cost.

you tell me who the real fucking extremists are.

    Left

-patriots who want the american people to stop being robbed of their labor
-want the common man to benefit from americas wealth and prosperity
    -want equal rights for everybody

    Right

-patriots who want to keep the government out of peoples lives as much as possible
-constitutional rights are absolute as are individual rights
-want social stability and happiness for everybody

    Center
-want to continue the degenerate shitshow we have running now

some argue that idpol is intrinsic to leftism and gender and race centric social justice is its logical progression, but i don't agree, it was developed by certain strains of academia and metastasised for decades, eventually spilling out and infecting the general population of leftists and liberals like brain worms, and we can develop a vaccine or malware removal tool to inoculate them or remove the malicious program without having to kill or completely overwrite the host

I think merit based identity politics is most useful for identifying groups that may need "pulling up by their bootstraps." Im a left cuck who believes there is a use for public housing and other social programs but the stipulations have to be actual context specific and not just boxes you check regarding what group they identify as. Locally there is a housing project that began in the 60's as 100% black and is now 1/3rd or less black, despite giving preference to blacks.

It's really hard to separate leftism from identity politics because to so many that's their cause de resistance and all they associate with leftism, hence in order to get them on your side you have to play into that. It's not as easy as a malware remove tool, you see how hard it is to get Quebec in line with the rest of Canada? A decentralized approach is best for this endeavor in my mind, as nice as it would be, you just have to let some people govern (or not govern) themselves and interpret the social contract as they see fit. Forgoing a central authority (at least one with much domestic power) allows more specific regional outcomes. Look at the data on transfer payments to the provinces over the last 30 years wtf lol

    Right

-Severely retarded on most economic issues, thinks protectionism is reasonable to implement in the current year
-Easily falls for fossil fuel industry propaganda and denies existence of anthropogenic climate change
-Simplistic notions of genetic, racial and gender determinism that ignore modern scientific research
-Insecure and frightened, scapegoats various demographics and hordes guns to defend against imaginary and exaggerated threats

    Center

-Detailed and nuanced understanding of economic issues from reading actual books written by experts
-Acknowledges reality of climate change but knows that private sector innovation and smart state policy are the way to solve it
-Has read Steven Pinker and therefore understands that not only has the world generally gotten better as a consequence of neoliberal economics, but that humans are born with varied genetic psychological endowments that are also mediated by their environments
-Sensible positions on gun issues, doesn't care if people want to own guns but just wants to make sure background checks are done properly

Folks, the choice is clear. Ignore the extremes and vote for rationality.

Every ideology is deliberate retardation. There is one reality, not several. You should be adaptable, and do what works.

No, crony capitalism is the fuselage. Capitalism and crony capitalism are two entirely different animals. Capitalism is healthy and necessary, whereas crony capitalism is unhealthy and unwanted. You should learn the difference.

What makes someone a crony? Taking money from the government?

I've leaned left and right in the past but after living in this world the only thing I have confidence in anymore is my wallet

A capitalist creates a product and sells it for 20% more than it cost him to make it.

A crony capitalist takes someone else's product and sells it for 3,000% more than it cost someone else to make it.

As long as the result is $$$ to the upper echelons they are the same, how one gets there and at whose expense is irrelevant.
