I find it so odd when I see young people who are against gay marriage, i had a co-worker, 35 year-old woman who smokes weed and has a tramp stamp, you'd think she'd be liberal, right? She said, "she doesn't believe in gay marriage" Apparently she's convinced that Christianity is the a sane and rational religion to blindly follow.

I used to believe in God, I truly did. I can't prove there isn't a God any more than they can prove there is one. I feel like if there is something bigger that 'created' that it wasn't because "he loves us unconditionally, every one" i feel more like God is a Kid who started an Ant Farm for a hobby but then got bored and left to go do other deity things. I think it's also dumb that they say God sees everything you do and knows every thought in your head. If he loved the little children, all the little chicldren of the world, then why such terrible things happening in Africa, Afghanistan, and Syria.

No, and I don't feel bad about that either. Expecting someone to read through an entire bill (i'm assuming their long) is like expecting someone to read through Appstore's Terms & Conditions.

Why don't you provide me with the cliff notes though? I am curious if it's as unnerving as your letting on.

My new political belief is Donutism where the only "government" enforces economic activity of mechanized industrial food production in the bakery sector and a certain amount of people are drafted into the supply chain, production at each end to ensure the constant oversupply over baked donuts into the general population.

Essentially a government corporation that entirely exists to produce donuts, the only taxes they collect are for donuts and they also control the police and pay them with... you guessed it. Donuts.

Did you actually read it? I mean I read 1,200 pages before, it was "The Stand" by Stephen King and took me about a year and half.

Also, I had high hopes for your breakdown of this bill.

I was expecting something along the lines of "it states that funds will be used for this thing, which will result in this thing..which is bad"

"Because this thing is flawed in this way, it will cause disastrous results."

"what this means here is that it will be paid over a certain amount of time that will have an affect the daily lives of Americans by doing this thing here."

Also, complaining about having to pay tolls? They don't have them where I live but aren't like 35 cents or something like that? That's like doing me a favor getting that filthy change out of my car.

Defund the police, give them donuts instead of guns.

i didnt either which is why i posted a link to an article by someone who seems to have read them.

One thing the White House’s official press release did not mention is that almost all of the $2 trillion doled out under BBB is expressly designated for Black, Latino, Native American, Asian American, Pacific Islander and non-English speaking individuals. White Americans will get nothing and like it.

Over and over again, the bill is written expressly NOT to help the hardworking Linda, apparently because she is white. Here are just a few examples:

    — $1 billion to Native American, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian communities for housing “needs.”

    — $500 million for minority-serving schools of medicine.

    — $112 million for teacher preparation programs at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs).

    — $75 million for culturally appropriate care management and services for older individuals who are racial and ethnic minorities or are underserved due to sexual orientation or gender identity.

    — $75 million to study maternal health for pregnant and postpartum minority individuals.

    — $50 million study maternal mortality among minorities.

    — $50 million to improve behavioral health outcomes for communities of color with substance abuse.

    — $75 million to increase research capacity at minority-serving institutions.

And on and on and on.

The very first item in Title II of the bill, titled “ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY EDUCATION,” is a program to distribute more than $100 million in grants to address “low diversity within the teacher and school leader workforce.” To be eligible for a grant, the recipient must have a plan “to increase the diversity of qualified individuals entering into the teacher, principal, or other school leader workforce.”

Similarly, the first provision of BBB’s “ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT” section is: “Minority Business Development Agency.”

But wait — here’s a plot twist! This part also includes something for rural America! (So Democrats have heard of Appalachia.) Twenty-one percent of the country is rural. Twenty-four percent is non-white. Guess how the money is divvied up?

One billion dollars for minorities and $200 million for “rural business centers.”

Even provisions that don’t explicitly exclude whites, turn out, on closer examination, to exclude whites. I’ve never seen so many synonyms for “non-white,” such as “persistent poverty communities,” “historically economically distressed,” “historical injustice” and “underserved communities.”

Hang on, Ann — what makes you think “underserved” means “non-white”?

I refer you to page 111 of the bill:

“This section also defines an ‘underserved community’ as a group of people who have been systematically denied the full opportunity to participate in aspects of economic, social, and civic life. Underserved communities include Black, Latino, Indigenous and Native American persons, Asian American and Pacific Islanders, other persons of color, [etc.].”

this is exhibit W why women shouldnt be involved in politics and be given the rights to vote.

the tally-buns are right and wise.

THE TRUTH is the ONLY reasonable position.

That is where the Republicans fail...miserably.

They deny the truth of climate change.

They deny the truth that Covid vaccines save lives.

They deny the truths of Jan. 6th.

They denied the truths of Rump's impeachments...TWICE.

They deny that Rump lost the election even though it was by an amazing SEVEN MILLION VOTES.

I'd trust a Republican as far as I could throw Rump's fat ass.

Left leaning libertarianism is the best solution in my mind. A centrist position doesn't undo any damage and leaves the door open for executive branch expansion. Centrism is also up for debate and can be interpreted from administration to administration with differing objectives

4-5 year election cycles begets short term outcomes and immediate gratification at the expense of the future. A new social contract needs to be written which emphasizes individual rights and a reduced role of government. The problem is that requires someone in government to write it

If anyone believes Rand Paul isn't going to bend over and get cucked by Israel after dishing out a dozen executive orders were he to be elected president you're kidding yourselves. The system itself needs alot of work before absolute power corrupts absolutely

Yes, very intelligent reply. Women should not be allowed to vote, let's take their suffrage away and replace instead with equal parts suffering and rage...someone call the Nobel prize people...we got a real inspirational thinker here.

It's true. We are an enlightened breed. Centrism is to politics what atheism is to religion. We are free from the dogmas of party lines, unbeholden to any particular creed beyond rational and pragmatic politics. We are the peacemakers - blessed - and the diplomats who must form and lead actual coalitions.
