2021-10-25 at 2:35 AM UTCIf you're gonna do 3D printed parts you should consider acetone vapor btw. Not sure what kind of plastic you're using but I think you can put ABS prints in a small chamber with a little container of acetone for a while and the parts will get a more glossy surface finish. Might fuck with the rail's geometry (since you're basically dissolving the surface plastic) but could be nice for the barrel bands at least. Food for thought anyway.

The picatinny is 3D printed but you have to order the barrel bands from Ruger. They are the bands from a Ruger 10/22. I agree with you on the aesthetic aspect of the picatinny. Unfortunately I doubt wood would not hold up well when attaching various "furniture".

That one looks ridiculous though, I feel those clips would rattle and it wouldn't feed well. Fucking interesting. I'm driving rn so can't study those pics super well but it looks like it might be hard to reset laterally due to how thin and light it looks. Probably not much kick. Looks like something 3d printed as well as something can be printed
Yes, I have seen videos on the UTAS UTS-15 Tactical Shotgun but I have never held or fired one. I am not real keen on bullpups. Not saying there is anything wrong or disadvantageous about a bullpup. It is just not my cup of tea.
As to what you are getting at when you say "hard to reset laterally due to how thin and light it looks" I don't understand what you are trying to convey. But if this helps you it weighs 8.27lbs empty and 9.03lbs with a 5 round magazine.
I have already stated that the VR-80 feeds flawlessly as long as you have the right piston installed for the rounds you are firing. I have experienced no feed issues with even the 19 rounds magazines. There are no 3D printed parts on the VR-80/ The upper and lower of made from rolled aluminum billets.
As to your feelings on the "clips" (I assume you are talking about the magazine) rattling I'm sorry you feel that way. I try to base my evaluation of firearm performance on information and experience not how an image makes me feel. Not trying to dis you by saying that but to put it in Sleepy Creepy Joe's words, "C'mon man". -

2021-10-25 at 3:39 AM UTCHere is another interesting piece in my collection. A limited edition custom engraved "Spartan" Magnum Research Desert Eagle 1911 chambered in .45 ACP. I found this last December on Gunbroker around the same time I found the M1 Garand. The seller listed it as 1 of 10. I was of course skeptical about a limited edition of only 10 selling brand new in the box for only like $1500 or $1600 (I don't recall of the top of my head but it was in the range with shipping and FFL fees).
So before I bought I sent an email to info@magnumresearch.com. In that email I stated "I am looking at one of these and the seller claims only 10 were ever made. Is this true?" They replied within 24 hours with 2 simple sentences. "He is close, there were 13 made total. We kept two and gave the designer one." So the seller was truthful in that there were only 10 released for sale. I have 4 other 1911's so I have decided to never fire this one in hopes that someday I way own the only one that has never been fired.
Anyhow below are a few pictures of it.
