Yup, a friend of mine back in England died 3 years ago from Mesothelioma after sucking up Asbestos dust when he was 18yrs old...his dad was an electrician and had him up in attics and small crawl spaces pulling cable whilst being rained on by asbestos dust...if only he'd worn a mask he'd still be alive and his dad wouldn't feel so guilty. -

It was...the family was in denial about it.
His brother said to me once "We have no idea how he got asbestos poisoning"...so I said "maybe those 2yrs your dad had him up in old buildings pulling cable for 5 quid an hour". -

We'd spend the afternoon as kids stripping the insulation off thick 3-5 core cables and he'd give us like 10 quid for it...while he collected hundreds for the copper. I didn't feel exploited at the time but now I do...clear child abuse.

Scientifically, no. An asbestos particle is 5μm in size, whereas the pore in a mask is 80 to 500 μm in size. Trying to stop an asbestos particle from going through a mask is like trying to stop a mosquito from going through a chain link fence. -

While I personally don't really give a fuck about masks anymore, I do believe there is some science that demonstrates how masks do legitimately reduce the potential for spreading the 🦠. -
