also using CF cards as substitutes for HDD is retarded. just get ide card readers and boot from an SD.
US seller means you don't have to wait 3 fucking months for it to arrive dumbo
SD cards are not as fast or durable as CF cards. For a hard drive solution a CF card is better...or better yet get the IDE to Sata adapter so you can use SSDs. -

Pretty much this. Don't use SD unless you're prepared to have total system failure every couple months. -

Why even bother with 3.1 what you could put 3.12 with networking support on it and at least be able to just transfer files via ethernet?
There, it was suggested so now he won't do the best possible thing he could do networking wise. -

relevant because if your IDE can only read and write a fraction of the speed of what a modern SD card can read and write, then it wont matter.
again.

2021-10-05 at 4:26 PM UTCHow are SD cards noticeably any less reliable than CFs? I mean how much writing to the card does a 90s OS do?

2021-10-05 at 4:40 PM UTCThe micro SD card in my dashcam died last week, I thought it was the dashcam and nearly ordered another one (It kept shutting down as soon as it started up)...I figured I'd check the SD card in my computer though before ordering and sure enough it was dead. Stuck a new one in and back to recording stupid drivers.

YAS QUEEN...for about 4yrs.
a CF card would have lasted 5yrs.
