Been working on it with my buddy.
Looks like someone punched out the voltage selector switch as if to keep people from fucking with it.
You can see solder drips in one picture.

But the damn thing turned on with 110v after we had fingered it a bunch.

It's as if something was touching...

Hoping to make it to the vintage computer festival in New Jersey next weekend!

The 486 turns on but we had some troubles with video signal.
I think a card was loose and we are going to try again.

I went ahead and stuck Jiggaboo's 3D printed floppy disk thing in it.

We are working on the K6-III at the moment.
It boots but windows was corrupt so we are trying to install windows 98 se on it.
The hard drive doesn't sound like it is working and the other isn't doing much either.

Got to a point with the 486 where the next step is to find another ISA gpu and both computers need new HDDs so it looks like ill be doing some ebaying.

Honest to gosh Im effin sick of this crap.
Spent 5 months preparing for the Midwest Vintage Computer Festival and now Im not even going to get to show.
    Bummer.

BeeReBuddy motherfucker [pimp your due marabout]
I would really like to carry on and see this 486 project through but at this point in time it has already cost me a lot more money than I originally budgeted for.
And now with all the cosmetic damage and hardware problems I am going to just have to think about it some and definitely raise some more funds if I do decide to finish it.
Might just put my new computer in the 486 case for lolz.

I'll wire the turbo button to the speaker so it can act like a horn.

Why do you need a HDD if you are using that CF card solution?

I use these for IDE motherboards...adapter so you can use SATA SSD cards

YOu can get these for like $4 from China but here's a US seller for one

The hard drive needs to be correctly jumpered for master drive.

You could always buy a small boat and use your 486 for an anchor.

also using CF cards as substitutes for HDD is retarded. just get ide card readers and boot from an SD.
