2021-09-21 at 1:31 AM UTCPeople dont know how to make films today. even with lower grade 35mm in the 70s on more of an arthouse-string budget, you had some great films made. the acting and the lighting and they atmosphere. literal and figurtive. to be the horror in horror. to be the funny face in comedy and or timing has to be just right. to put passion in your tears so others cry with you. anyways there was a movie with Elliot Gould that takes place in Toronto. like a murder mystery. part of it filmed in Qubec as well. I want to hire a pro team and film in Qubec or Montreal. the buildings are amazing there
Stars today can't act.
one thing I hated about the 1970s was that horrible music. I mean Dirty Harry and Bullit had a good jazzy soundtrack. both filmed in San Francisco. Both originally meant to be filmed in Chicago but San Francisco wins out for the hills and car chase scenes.
yep.
where were we? -

It's a country.
the short of it is this.
France discovered the modern motion camera. America was first in with some gizmos but France won.
In The USA the state of New Jersey and NYC were the first to be filmed in the 1800s with motion picture. then they realized they were limited to scenery and the weather only allowed for filming certain months depending on the scene called for. this is where they up and moved to San Francisco at first for about a decade and then in the 1920s started moving the business to LA. But Oakland East Bay was some of the first film studios before they realized LA would be better. so started moving them down there.
but you can film Desert scenes, Sahara Desert scenes, New England or England or European or The Alps or anything you want in this state. year round. exterior or interior-closed sets. British Columbia is also a great location for film making.
Im too old. and my peen shrank from the meds. I'll probably drink a beer in my car (not driving anywhere) and smoke marijuana laced botanical. which isnt Weed but some herbs with thc laced in it. perfectly legal. and i will ask myself what is life worth living for. then I will probably come up stairs and watch tv.
take care! -

2021-09-21 at 5:34 AM UTCIt might feel like prices will keep rising forever, but it felt that way in 2007 too. FOMO (fear of missing out) makes people stupid.
Prices are already down in the UK, and are collapsing in Chiner. We're on schedule for a major correction. You need to come in with your baller money when the market is depressed and you hear people saying 2011 things to each other like "property will never recover" and "we thought we could all become wealthy by selling houses to each other". -

the Australian economy is more or less pegged directly to real estate; the government will not let prices drop (naturally or otherwise) because if they do, everything goes up in flames -

Property is too big to save. Once property starts crashing the developers and all the over-leveraged builders-cum-property tycoons start crashing, the banks start crashing, and the buy-to-let paper millionaires start pricing rope on ebay, no one wants to invest, everyone wants cash, the conventional wisdom becomes that houses are easy to build and land is plentiful, and the whole thing becomes a massive fuckup.
In Ireland about the only people to benefit were the New York jedis, they got bailed out from their bank investments, even their risk capital, and then came in and bought property cheap using their limitless funds when it was on the floor in 2012 and 2013. If you ever hear media kvetching about "vulture funds" that's who they're talking about - people like Paul Singer.
I imagine they're looking at places like Australia and New Zealand and thinking about how noice it'd be to buy up whole suburbs of places like Sydney and Auckland on the cheap. I'm sure you won't be surprised to learn that our experience was that the media was heavily involved in talking down the economy. Some politicians complained, and got just about cancelled for it. You might see something similar happen when the crash is ready down under. -

So when covid calms its tits a bit, I plan to go to Australia and buy a house there. How the fuck long does that take? Weeks? Months?

I mean we've been told it's a bubble for decades now. It stalled a bit in 2007-8 but never popped out.
I'm not getting any younger.
