A good English meat and potato pie.

    1lb ground beef
    1-2 onions diced
    1/2 diced carrots
    2lb diced potatoes
    salt and pepper
    brahhhhn gravy mix

purchased Pie crusts or pastry you make yourself you lazy twat.

precook the meat, onions, taters, carrots etc...stick it in the pie crust
add the brown gravy mix (but only use half the water so it's thick)
Stick on the top pie crust
bake in t'oven for 30 mins or so at about 375f

Serve with mashed taters, english chips...all smothered in more brown gravy.
sit back on the sofa with pants unfastened (or expandable waist pants).
say to yourself "By 'eck, that was some gud eain me ol mucker"

if you want a real cheap meal just make a pot of rice, get a can of tomatoes and meat and cook it all together.

A crock pot would be a good investment. You could throw a frozen roast in with veggies and water before you leave for work and have a nice meal ready when you get home. Crock pots can be had for as low as $20 or so and should last for years and years. I'm not sure if they still make them with pots that don't remove for cleaning or not, but recommend you definitely get one where the pot is removable.

Actually if you want a cheap meal find a busy restaurant and then do a runner when the waiter is busy elsewhere.

I use cat food instead of beef in hamburger helper and I don't even notice a difference

I ate a can of dog food for a bet years ago, it was bland as fuck, no flavor, the smell is definitely worse than the taste.
