why? do you just want to melt it down into bricks to sell, or do you want to actually make something with the metal?

i USED TO MELT WHOLE ENGINES WHEN I WAS A SCRAPPER,, WE WOULD HAVE A HUGE PILE OF BURNABLES AND TOSS WHOLE ENGINES IN TO MELT AS THE FIRE BURNED THE ALUMINUM WOULD BE IN PUDDLES IN THE ASHES WHEN THE FIRE BURNED OUT

when I lived OTG (off the grid) I learned that metals are actually very valuable and people would come to my house like HEEEEY MAN GOT ANY EMPTIES I CAN HAVE and I would threaten to stab them in the eye if they touched my metal.

i just want to keep them as a testament of the amount of beers ive drank over the years.

right now theyre just piling up ceiling high in boxes in the corner of my room.

    ideally in ingot form.

Wow op are you reading my mine

Days ago I was watching videos on this on YouTube because I’ve gotten into collecting cans and pull tabs

Smelting looks cool but it’s a total waste of time and effort, you won’t make enough extra money to justify it plus most places are strict about the condition the cans are in when you send them in

do these cans have paint on them? if so, wouldnt it cause impurities in the ingot? i guess molten metal is heavier than paint so it would float on top where it can be removed.
