Nope, the salary here for cops is pretty decent though. Ive considered it. Most of the cops here are freemasons and that supersedes the laws. Thank fuck too, cause theyve kept me out of trouble many times.

thats what my first roommate said, however..
Down here its all divided into units, unlike in certain euro countries for example, a lot of the cops here dont have a partner.
If they need backup for anything serious its usually not far away. Now, if youre with a gang unit, you will likely have a partner since the chances of being outnumbered or shot at increases significantly.
Theres been plenty of times where the cops would find me with weed or shrooms and just look at me funny without taking it from me. Or when theyd catch someone i know with meth, they would sometimes just make them pour it into a water puddle, or not even acknowledge it to begin with.
Actually meth is the only drug the police force here is okay with undercover cops using. They often turn a blind eye to it. Im literally more likely to get fucked with over weed than meth.
One guy i know, real nice guy, ex undercover/vice, has permission to pick the lock to my friends apartment and confiscate all his shit if he misbehaves
