An Apparently To Alert You Of A Sim-Swap Attack

   I was thinking about making an app that you would run on two phones. Each would send SMS messages back and forth. There would be some coded way of doing this, which would be within the app.
   
   There would be an alarm that would go off if one did not receive a text within a certain time frame.
   
   What do you think?

   nothing can be done on users part to detect clonned sims.
   
   i think both phone would ring at the same time until one of them is picked up.

   I disagree. My app idea could help alert a victim. I only survived because I was on top of things. A lot of people get destroyed.

    sim-swap attack is the same thing as getting yiur sim card cloned.

    Yes. It would be some type of alert/alarm. Not a big deal if there is a false alarm.

    I got sim-swapped twice in less than a year.
    
    I think the same phone number may get returned even if the service is switched. My old phones still display my phone number. Either way I'll likely look into it this weekend.
    
    I'm just going to allow permissions to turn volume up and phone off silent and then have an alarm.

    Burner phones seem to work for me. More to the point, phone stuff is not my field so i wanted to ask how swappers get the info they need to execute a sim swap. Are there particular targets that are high value or in demand as it were?
